Our Manifesto—DIPLO

“We started locally in Philly with only a few records and a party at our warehouse. It began with a DIY aesthetic, where we made loud noises in our bedrooms, in different cities and house parties. That same aesthetic still remains as the Mad Decent ethos, but with one important shift: now we make noise all over the world.” “Every artist that is on the label, alongside those who collaborate with our culture, are a part of Mad Decent—we all believe in collectively pushing the envelope. Nowadays, you can easily self-release music. When I’m talking to artists I want to sign, I tell them that they have that option; but then I also remind them that Mad Decent creates one big family.”

“Mad Decent was initiated to find a place for music that did not have a home.”

“Mad Decent apparel and music flow together seamlessly. It’s fun, easy and casual. It feels like a giant gang across the world; like sleeper cells that will rise up and juju on that beat one day.”
