Connect, plug-in, switch on Providing a balanced literacy experience is at the core of this outstanding series. Covering all strands in the Australian Curriculum: English Literacy Network enables you to plan, program and teach your middle–upper primary literacy block with ease. The focus is on developing key comprehension skills and strategies while learning to read and compose a variety of text types. To facilitate this the program provides listening, reading, writing, speaking and viewing experiences with print, oral, digital and multimodal texts. Creating Texts – Writing Workshop CDs

Step 1 The vibrant, high-interest Magazines contain a variety of short texts ideal for guided reading.

Guided Reading

Focusing on a common theme, each magazine can be used to explicitly develop reading skills and strategies, comprehension, and understanding of a wide variety of imaginative, informative and persuasive text types. Resources: > Magazines > Teacher Resource Books

Each magazine focuses on developing key comprehension skills. In this phase comprehension skills are targeted with explicit work to develop understanding and master strategies. Throughout Literacy Network all key comprehension strategies are explicitly taught. Resources: > Magazines > Teacher Resource Books > Listening Post CDs

Step 3 Applying the skills and strategies

Each CD covers 2 genres and provides support for you to: • model the text structure, grammar and vocabulary • jointly construct the texts with students • provide independent practice activities.

A wide range of digital content, including videos and animations ensure ICT skills and understanding are developed.

Grammar – Grammar and Conventions CDs

Step 2 Focusing on Comprehension

Based on stimulating digital content the Writing Workshop CDs contain a rich variety of texts and the activities focus on the elements in their structure.

Consolidating and practising language and text features is the focus of the Grammar and Conventions CD. Using a stimulating digital presentation each language feature has: • a definition • an interactive example. Interactive activities coupled with pdf worksheets provide consolidation. Licence A full site licence is included with each CD.

Teacher Resource Books A comprehensive yet flexible teaching framework for reading, writing, listening and critical literacy is outlined in the Teacher Resource Books. A wide range of activities and assessment worksheets are provided.
