September 12,2013 Mackintosh Moment www.mackintoshacademy.com
Dear Parents, I am thrilled to announce that our technology dollars have been put to excellent use this week in our classrooms. In the words of Mrs. Kelly Kates, our Performing Arts' teacher, "I just wanted to say "Thanks so much!" for the TV, I-pad and Apple Works. I am overwhelmed! I know I will have a lot to figure out, but I am so excited about all of the possibilities! It is such nice timing since we are discussing different genres of music in grade one. I wanted to play Tchaikovsky's version of "Nutcracker" compared to Duke Ellington's. Now I can play it on the Apple TV and the students will get to see what different instruments are being used for the classical vs. jazz version, rather than sharing my cutout pictures of instruments!" Our parents' generosity has allowed Mackintosh Littleton to complete our technology plan from last year, including Apple TVs for Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Kindergarten. Each classroom also received an iPad with a a sturdy case. Your Annual Giving Campaign dollars have been used wisely for our students! Gratitude to John Nimmo, Rick Gill and Chuck Turner for hanging the TVs in the classrooms. It truly takes a village to fit all of the puzzle pieces together that make up this amazing school. Our staff wants to thank each and every one of you who contributed financially to our goals of last year. We were incredibly successful, your giving nature and support of Mackintosh Academy are truly appreciated! With much care, Stacey
