NEW! Registration Management System We have a New Registration Management System coming July 2018. We need to verify we have your CURRENT AND CORRECT email in order to transfer your account information to our new system. Your email will be your log-in in the new system. You can enter your information through your current online account, an online form available through our website, or in person at the Welcome Desk. The switch to a new provider is necessary as our current system is being discontinued. We anticipate a number of benefits with the new system, including an easier online registration process. While this change should result in little to no impact to you, please keep in mind that our staff are learning a brand new system. Thank you in advance for your patience. If you wish to receive further communications about the New Registration Management System, subscribe to our monthly e-newsletter, visit our website under News & Events, or ask at our Welcome Desk.

Online registration will not be available after June 29 as we transition to our new registration management system.

Our swimming pool will be closed April 9, 2018 to early Fall 2018 for necessary tile replacement and maintenance of the pool membrane. The typical life expectancy of a pool basin is 15-25 years. The Sport and Wellness basin is 25 years old and was evaluated during the 2013 upgrades to piping, pumps, ventilation, and filtration. At that time, and with follow-up examinations in 2016, it was determined a preservation project to retile the pool basin was necessary in 2018. Our members who are regular pool users can take advantage of lane swimming at the NAIT or Downtown YMCA pools at no charge. Our morning and noon hour aquafit classes, run by Sport and Wellness staff, will be run at the YMCA. Visit our Welcome Desk for details on how to access the NAIT and YMCA facilities. If neither option works, our regular pool-using members have the option to put their membership on hold at no charge. If you wish to receive further communications about the Pool Re-tiling and Basin Membrane Project, subscribe to our monthly e-newsletter, visit our website under News & Events, or ask at the Welcome Desk.

Register by phone at 780-497-5300, in person at 10800-105 Avenue, or online at MacEwan.ca/SportandWellness

“A friend asked me to try Olympic Weight Lifting and I said, ‘Sure!’ I loved it. When my work schedule prevented me from registering again, I begged Jeremy to take me on as a client. Jeremy is an incredible personal trainer and a true ambassador of MacEwan University. Not only is his knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, exercise medicine, and sports psychology second to none, he is a great person who makes training fun and practical. I am a better doctor because of the time I spend in the gym with Jeremy. It grounds me. I am more patient and empathetic with the people I work with. I also love feeling strong. As someone who has struggled with body image, it reminds me to focus on the gift of wellness and the energy we experience when we move our bodies. Your small, daily habits define you. If you want to make a change, it really only has to be small. And then slowly, the rest will come.”
