Sérgio Machado President of Transpetro celebrates the good moment of the Brazilian shipbuilding industry and says that the company is preparing to become the international reference

Macaé Offshore – You are ahead of Transpetro for almost one decade. What is your evaluation of the period that you occupy this position and what change since then? Sérgio Machado – During my administration, Transpetro recorded strong growth. We tripled our revenue, reaching R$ 6 billion by the end of 2011 and we also duplicated our profit reaching R$ 629 million in 2011. At the same time, we have reduced the rates of accidents and leaks. The growth follows Brazil’s needs for more petroleum logistics and reflects a forward-looking management and productivity in search of new business niches for the company.
