First Brazilian ship to release ducts

A specialist in torque services, Alimaq Máquinas e Ferramentas, a company which headquarters in Guarulhos (SP) and representatives in the Santos Lowland, took to the Santos Offshore its line of bevel and pipe cutting machines, torquimeters and hydraulic links, pneumatic tools and pumps and also presented its portfolio of services of hydraulic torquing, cargo hoisting, pipe cutting and beveling. “We came to the fair due to the potential of the market in Santos, before uncertain and now promising with the boom of the Pre-salt. We don’t have previsions of investing in Santos with a head office, considering our position in São Paulo and representatives in the lowland meet the demand well”, explains the marketing assistant, Alenice Nobre. According to her, Alimaq answers to many companies of the petrochemical area, naval industry, refineries, rigs and will be present with its equipment and services provisions in this new phase of oil and gas in Brazil.

Valman wants attention to the national content

Santos Platform

A French engineering multinational with a strong performance in oil and gas, Technip participated in the Santos Offshore and announced, during the event, the construction of the first Brazilian vessel of flexible ducts release. This is a project of US$ 250 million, contracted by Petrobras and of partnership with the Norwegian DOF. The company’s executive officer, Raymond Semple, informed that the first tests with the ship at high seas will take place now in December and in 2010 the ship will be chartered by Petrobras, for operation in deep waters of the basins in the Brazilian southeast region. The contract with the state company expects the charter to last four years, renewable for an equal period. Since its arrival in Brazil, in the 70s, the company has made investments estimated in R$ 1 billion. According to Raymond, most part of these funds was spent on the construction and expansion of the factory of flexible and umbilical ducts in Vitória (ES), besides the research and development of submarine technologies and maritime assets. Now, the company starts selling its first ducts to Petrobras for the Tupi field, in the Santos Basin.

Strong present in the new phase of the Brazilian oil industry

Participating for the first time in the Santos Offshore, the Valman Oil Tools, bets on this new phase of the oil and gas market. With a factory in São Paulo, attending the Santos Basin and a service base in Macaé, the company remains strong in the manufacturing of equipment, in order to meet the demands resulting from the Pre-salt.
