The core concept of this design is to preserve the great joy of walking and discovering spaces in this historic city. This building intervention restores the piazza to its original shape as seen in Nolli's map of 1748, creating a reincarnative process for the urban fabric of the area. The intervention on the facade and the main entrance creates continuity to the street space and building elevations surrounding it. The new triangular piazza, with a wall relif and an ornate fountain, transforms the previously straight street into an angled piazzetta, providing a picturesque and eventful walking experience. Another small square hidden at the back of the building offers a peaceful space for relaxation in this populated area. Also, the building's interior corridor connects the outside streets to the elegant garden inside.

Just beyond the walls of the Vatican City, the Parrocchia Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Cipro metro station bound a vast parking lot. This space is lacking vegetation or people. The site’s critical location between two distinct street grids makes it a potentially vibrant urban seam. This project develops the space by providing retail, residential, and public space in a dense, intimate, and aesthetically pleasing plan. This plan is defined by two key factors - the underground metro line and the view towards the elegant church. The result of the design is a node with economic and social vitality that improves the quality of life for residents of the neighborhood.

The residential areas surrounding the main public corridor exhibit the qualities of landscape. Each housing block contains a variety of housing types that appeal to an array of residents with differing needs and desires. Also, these blocks are located within close proximity to the retail core which is converted from the previous factory buildings. Pedestrians can easily walk to the center to enjoy fine shopping, dining, and social life.

This design is primarily characterized by low-density intimate neighborhood blocks surrounding a high-density mixeduse core and a central boulevard. This impressive tree-lined boulevard boasts a grand, public plaza that is ornately landscaped with unique sculptures, decorative fountains, and lush vegetation. It is transformed from the original thoroughfare as a strong axis that divides the residential areas between the north and the south,. It can be utilized year-round, as an open-air urban park in the summer months and an ice-skating rink during the winter months, which greatly enhances the public realm. The illustrative plan depicts the symmetrical nature of the design, which emulates the character of the gardens found in this northern region of China.

This landscape project runs along US1, a major corridor in Miami that features an above-ground metro line. This project follows US-1 through the urban transect from the Vizcaya residential area to the Brickell financial district. Without removing any existing buildings, the landscape reconnects the two residential areas currently divided by US-1, increases the richness of the parkway's residual spaces, and improves the interaction between the natural and the man-made. Four areas were carefully selected as examples to show the mechanic of inserting fixed and flexible landscape elements and structures. In this vision, US-1 will be turned from a car-based thoroughfare into a central green spine for driving, relaxing and playing. The Brickell area will have a more harmonious and active relationship between city, people and water.

From the desire to create safe, healthy and educated communities that evolve into resident-oriented and environment-friendly master plans, design results in the culmination of well stitched patch-work between commercial centers, residential units and waterfronts providing open water views to all residents and visitors from both public and private locations. The master plan maximizes these views by willing the buildings into v-shapes that, enhanced with height, hierarchy, and variation in residential typologies, create a homogeneous array of unit types that encourage social interaction. Originally built in the early 1920’s as the American Bakeries Company, The Bakehouse Art Complex (BAC) purchased the property and retrofitted the facility into working studios for artists and exhibition galleries.
