Job Opportunities We are looking for outstanding staff members to join our team! Our office is accepting applications for all programs. Coaches, instructors, supervisors, and officials are needed for the following youth and adult programs: football, volleyball, basketball, hockey, skating lessons, figure skating, fitness classes, and ice arena staff. Volunteer Opportunities Volunteers are needed to assist with our special events. Upcoming events include: Winter Rec-Fest, Polar Plunge, and the Festival Foods Grandad Half Marathon. 2013 Reservation Information Reservations for 2013 will be taken online at www. CityOfLaCrosse.org/Parks beginning at 12:01am, January 2, 2013. You must have an online account with us prior to December 14, 2012. Without an online account, registrations can be made in-office beginning at 8:30am, January 2, 2013. Reservations for non-residents (including township residents of Shelby, Medary, Campbell, etc.) will begin on January 7, 2013. Rental Dates and Times Park shelters are available May 1, 2013 through October 13, 2013 each day from 8:00am to 10:30pm. There are no exceptions to this policy. Park hours are 6:00am to 11:00pm daily.

Pets in Parks Policy

Pets are allowed in city parks as long as city ordinance 10.03 (K) is followed. This includes ensuring that pets display current rabies tags and current registration tags. All pets must be on a leash (6-foot max) and remain on sidewalks or designated walkways. Please keep our parks clean by picking up after your pet. Visit Houska Dog Park (100 Houska Park Dr.) for 5 acres of off-leash, fully fenced-in roaming area for your dogs to enjoy. Bags are provided; please clean up after your pet.

Hixon Forest Controlled Deer Hunt

December 1 and 2, 2012 5:00am to 1:00pm Hixon Forest The City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation & Forestry partners with the North American Squirrel Assoc (NASA), Badger State Sportsman Club, and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to hold a controlled deer hunt for individuals with physical disabilities. The Badger State Sportsman Club will be conducting a deer health inspection. Hixon Forest will be closed these two days from 5:00am to l:00pm as a safety precaution.

Refunds & Credits

A full refund will be offered when programs are cancelled or schedules changed by La Crosse Parks & Recreation Department. A full credit will be given to registrants if registrant cancels prior to program start, but not after program start. Refunds will not be issued for special events, day trips, and pool passes. Uniform deposits will be returned through account credits and refund checks. The entire uniform or equipment must be returned on the given date or the deposit will be forteited.

Non-City Residents

The La Crosse Parks and Recreation programs are supported by City property taxes. Non-city residents are required to pay an extra fee to support the activities. A non-resident is considered anyone living outside La Crosse City limits. (For example: Towns of Campbell, Medary, Shelby)
