Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union 01.07.-31.12. 2011 Dynamism, positive energy and solidarity are the values that represents the logo. It shows Poland as modern and young at heart nation, initiating positive changes in Europe. The author of the Presidency logo is Jerzy Janiszewski - the author of the nowfamous all over the world Solidarity logo, which became the historic symbol of the Polish road to freedom and democratic changes in this part of the world.

I, Culture: 400 projects, 10 capitals, 10 time zones, 100 days Projects in: Brussels, Berlin, Kiev, London, Madrid, Minsk, Moscow, Paris, Beijing, Tokyo. Pillars of the program: Karol Szymanowski, Czesław Miłosz, Stanisław Lem, Beats of Freedom, I, Culture Puzzle. Workshop of the modern craft and I, Culture Orchestra. Polish projects prepared by Instytut Adama Mickiewicza, in cooperation with Polish and foreign partners, will be presented at the best galleries, theatres, clubs and festivals Bozar, La Monnaie in Brussels, National Theatre, Whitechapel Gallery, London Jazz Festival in London, Martin Gropius Bau in Berlin, Teatro Real in Madrid. A number of cultural projects of Polish Institutes in 22 cities in Europe and the USA as well as hundreds of projects in the range of public and cultural diplomacy performed by more than 100 RP diplomatic posts on all continents.

In an attractive and easy way, it helps foreigners to understand Poland and Poles; to discover the most interesting places recommended by the group of public figures and culture animators. At 208 pages, it presents coherent, clear and current overview of the most important areas of economic, social and cultural life of Poland (8 chapters). It draws attention to these places, people and events, that acknowledge the image of Poland as a country with rich traditions as well as creative, modern and dynamic country at once. The Polish presidency is a great opportunity to promote Polish cuisine. One of the most respected Polish chefs, Adam Chrząstowski, supervises the creation of delicious Polish food menu with Polish products for high-level meetings in Poland and Brussels. Foreign delegations and journalists visiting Poland during its Presidency will also receive a list of recipes of Polish cuisine prepared in a modern way by 16 chefs, including three foreigners, who work in the best Polish restaurants as a rule. The starting point for every recipe is a product commonly

associated with Polish Cusine (e.g. herring, pickle, buckwheat, poppy, game). Each recipe is preceded by the description of the product understandable for foreign recipients, including its cultural context. The publication is enhanced with modern pictures.
