Welcome to the Louisiana Youth Football Division I - FCS Championships, 2011 Quest For The Community Cup, starting with Wildcard Round November 8th–10th (@ 7pm) at Scotlandville High, Olympia & Memorial Stadiums and 1st & 2nd Rounds November 12th (@ 9am) & November 13th (@ 2pm) at Scotlandville & McKinley High Schools and Olympia & Memorial Stadiums, with THE FINALS being played November 19th at Memorial Stadium, starting @ 11am. We appreciate any support you may be able to offer to make this an even greater event. The greatest national treasure of our country is our children. Come out and help us showcase this through our recognition of excellence. Background Info: In our inaugural season (2005), we had 44 registered teams, approximately 1100 registered youth (ranging from 7 yrs old to 13 yrs old), and approximately 300 volunteer coaches. Now in our 7th season, 2011 kicked off with 70 registered teams, over 2600 registered Student-Athletes (football players & cheerleaders/dancers, ranging from 5 yrs old to 13 yrs old), and approximately 360 volunteers, 280 of whom are CERTIFIED volunteer football coaches. These numbers are impressive, even for established youth programs; so we are excited about our accomplishments thus far and delighted to share this with the citizens of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, & the United States. Louisiana Youth Football expanded its’ outreach of putting youth back into football by expanding the league with two levels of play, “Division I - FCS and Division II - FBS”. Louisiana Youth Football season’s culmination will be the Division I - FCS Championship Series, 2011 Quest For The Community Cup. This championship series is a playoff system designed to determine our league champions for all age groups (Division A: 7-8, Division AA: 9-10, Division AAA: 11-12). New to the Series is the D I vs D II Showdown; thus giving more teams an opportunity to play in this magnificent Championship environment. The championship trophy at stake in this quest for excellence is named the Community Cup in honor of our ongoing effort to create “One Community In Unity”. Louisiana Youth Football expanded its’ outreach of putting youth back into football by expanding the “DLeague” Division, with the “C-League: 4” Division. This Division is the developmental division for players’ ages: 4. This Division is a readapted youth tackle football instructional and developmental playing method for the young player ages 4. In order to receive a full experience and understanding of the game, every participant received a wide range of training in a number of positions. This Division is designed exactly like the “DLeague: 5-6” Division. These Divisions will NOT have a playoff system; however, teams from the C-League & D-League will provide additional excitement to our Championships with exhibition games throughout the day, starting @ 11am. We will also be presenting the Louisiana Youth Cheerleading 2011 Showcase. This segment of our championship events will feature ALL of our cheerleading & dance squads performing individual squad routines, as well as combined routines throughout the championship games. The showcase will start @ 12pm. Any student athlete (Football Players & Cheerleaders) who maintained a 3.0 or better GPA during the season was named to the Louisiana Academy 2011 All State Academic Team or Squad for each division. These student athletes were nominated by their coach for consideration. An official report card or progress report accompanied the nomination. This year, the Louisiana Academy 2011 All State Academic Teams & Squads will be recognized during halftime of each Louisiana Youth Football Championship Series championship game on December 4th at Memorial Stadium, starting @ 3pm. Again this year, we will be presenting The Hats' Off Sportsmanship Award and The Scholastic Dream Team Award. The Hats’ Off Sportsmanship Award is an award honoring sportsmanship displayed by a team (players, coaches, & fans included) in each Division & Conference. These award winners are selected by the Officials. The Scholastic Dream Team Award is an award honoring the team with the highest GPA in each Division & Conference. These award winners will also be recognized during halftime of each Louisiana Youth Football Championship Series championship game.
