The company is headed by Gerard Conway, who is assisted by his wife Claire and son Peter, who is operations manager. This successful family-run concern now operates a fleet of over 40 vehicles and 20 trailers from a 10,000 sq. ft. state-ofthe-art premises in Desmond Business Park. Due to favourable economic conditions and an increased level of business, this is soon to be extended by a third of the present site. Conway Transport Ltd. was founded in 1990 as a limited company by Gerard

and Claire Conway who had previously operated the business as a sole trader. Gerard had extensive experience as a driver in the freight business and felt that he had the necessary skills and qualities to start his own transport company. In 1984, he purchased his first van and immediately secured a contract collecting and delivering freight in the Munster area. From these humble beginnings, the company has grown from strength to strength and is now a key player in the Mid West/Kerry transport sector. This has been achieved by a continous belief of putting the customers’ needs at the heart of the operation. Customer satisfaction is what drives the business and success is measured by the health
of a client relationship. Many of the relationships built up by Conway Transport in the early days are still in place today. The company’s client base varies from local SMEs to multinational organisations many of which are house hold names. The range of services offered by the company at present include an express pallet and parcel pickup and delivery service, warehousing, general haulage, an international service, dedicated client services and more time sensitive activities such as same day delivery and AM priority deliveries.
