In this area, luxury market begins at $3,000,000. If a person has the discretionary income to afford homes in this range, financing is usually not used on owner occupied, or if used it is limited to $1,100,000. So, a .25% point rise in short term interest rates or even a full 1 percent rise in home financing would not affect their decision to purchase or not purchase. So, small interest rate adjustments do not impact the luxury market.”
