LYFE KITCHEN RESTAURANT GROWS IN SO-CAL… …with an emphasis on “local” CULVER CITY, CALIF. (March 8, 2013)— At the second LYFE Kitchen grand opening celebration on Friday, March 8, 2013, CEO Mike Roberts announced aggressive Southern California growth plans. In addition to the Culver City restaurant opening, the transformational “lyfestyle” brand will be opening restaurants this year in Tarzana and West Hollywood, with several additional locations in the pipeline. Roberts also announced to more than 100 new LYFE Kitchen restaurant employees and event guests -including community leaders, ambassadors, shareholders and charitable partner, Culver City Education Foundation- that LYFE Kitchen’s first franchise agreement will be with Carey Cooper, who will expand the concept in Chicago, Ill. The brand is actively seeking additional corporate locations in Northern California and outstanding locations and talented franchisees nationwide, with a focus on Denver, New York City, Austin, Boston and Washington D.C. “We look forward to strengthening our roots here in Southern California and expanding to new regions,” said Roberts. “From the moment each location is selected until well after the first fork is raised, LYFE immerses itself in the local community and establishes strong relationships with suppliers, local community leaders, and charitable groups.” FROM FARM-TO-FORK LYFE Kitchen’s local growers and vendors assist in providing customers with greattasting, fresh, high-quality food, while mitigating the overall environmental footprint. The menu includes Brussels sprouts from Weiser Family Farms, luscious berries from Thorne Family Farm, delicious organic greens from Kenter Canyon Farms, grass fed beef from Hearst Ranch and biodynamic wine on tap from Beckmen vineyards in Santa Barbara.

LYFE Kitchen is a warm and inviting lifestyle restaurant where guests feel as though they were at home – where, of course, the central gathering place is the kitchen. Warm woods and natural lighting create a welcoming ambiance ideal for enjoying a tasty meal. Guests engage with the LYFE Kitchen team as they are lead through the fresh, flavorful menu where after selections are presented at the table. In addition, the core of LYFE Kitchen’s philosophy is a commitment to materials and energy conservation. Specific design elements with ecological and sustainable focus include: tiles of façade made of concrete that benefit local nonprofits; paint has zero volatile organic compounds; furniture made of high density polyethylene, recycled plastic made from 90% milk and juice containers; recycled planters contain herbs in organic soil; bamboo floors and chandeliers; natural wood table tops and more. An iconic design element is LYFE Kitchen’s herb wall. Located in the center of the restaurant, the fresh herb wall, includes 25 flavorful herbs and spices such as basil, lemongrass, majoram and more. The wall represents the fresh ingredients used in the kitchen to create many of LYFE’s favorite dishes.

BEVERAGES:

In addition to artisan coffee selections and fresh squeezed juices for breakfast, guests can enjoy nondairy smoothies and coolers with fresh herbs and fruits. Adult beverage options include a selection of local beers and organic wines. In a constant mode of innovation LYFE Kitchen worked to re-define the environmental standard for wine service in America’s dining spaces by going beyond recycling to whole reusability. LYFE is committed to working with vineyards that are highly evolved in their sustainable business practices.
