Where does the money go?

Time is almost up! The contest runs May 4-8 at midnight. There will be one winner from each site. The Team that raises the most wins a pizza party up to $100! The individual that raises the most will win a 2015 Bike MS Jersey and select a Bike MS wearable item! The team with the highest percentage increase in riders will get ten pairs of Bike MS socks! Bike to the Bay

Event Details: Two day riders will spend the night in Port Clinton and have an opportunity to enjoy dinner and tickets for the Jet

Express to Put-In-Bay or tickets to the After-Ride party at Catawba Island Brewery. On Sunday, two day participants will head back to finish at Perrysburg High School. One day riders (Saturday only) will start at the Perrysburg High School. The 35 mile riders will ride to Pemberville and there will be busses to tranport riders and their bikes back to the high school. The 50, 75, and 100 mile riders will finish at Port Clinton High School on Saturday. There will also be busses available there to transport you and your bike back to Perrysburg High School. One day riders should be sure to sign up for a bus time when you register! Be sure to attend the After-Ride Party at Catawba Island Brewery, 2330 E. Harbor Rd., Port Clinton, 4:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.! The charter busses that do the Hotel / Jet Express loop will add this as a drop off / pick up point. It is NOT within walking distance of the high school. After-Ride Party includes tickets for 2 beers and 2 slices of Bell Mell’s pizza. Live music will be provided by “Vernon Jones Blues Cartel” from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Rider will choose EITHER the Jet Express ticket OR After-Ride Party option when checking in. Route Update: Improvements to the route have been made due to rider feedback, including a return to scenic Tontogany Creek Road and rest stop in Tontogany. **applies to 35, 75, 100 mile routes only

Training Ride 411: The Toledo Area Bicyclists (TAB) in cooperation with the MS Society will be conducting a Bike to the

Bay Training and Group Ride Clinic. The event will take place Saturday, May 30 at 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Fort Meigs YMCA, 13415 Eckel Junction Rd. Perrysburg, OH. The event will cover important topics to make your ride safe, fun and enjoyable. Those who attend the Training and Group Ride Clinic will be invited to join TAB June 1-4 group rides.

Central Ohio Challenge Event Details: The ride begins at Dublin’s Glacier Ridge Elementary School on July 11 at 7:00 a.m. and travel along sections

of the scenic Big Darby Plains Ohio Byway before finishing back in Dublin. You’ll go through towns like Plain City, Milford Center, and Bellefontaine. We’ll have three route options available this year - 30, 50, and 95 miles. The ride is fully supported with rest stops, bike mechanics, medical and safety volunteers, and support vehicles. Invite your family and friends to cheer as you cross the finish line and enjoy a wonderful celebration. A fantastic finish awaits you with great food and music. Packet pick up will be held the day of the event starting at 6:00 a.m. All riders will need to be on the route by 8:00 a.m. Route cards with turn-byturn directions will also be available. Rest stops are every 15-20 miles and will have Gatorade, water, snacks and restrooms. Lunch will be provided at a rest stop for those riders riding the 95 mile route. Dinner will be provided upon your return to Dublin.

can gather up some stuff you don’t need, then pick a weekend to set up shop and sell! All your money can go toward your fundraising goal!

August 1-2, 2015

Buckeye Breakaway

(formerly Pedal to the Point)

Event Details: We will start and finish at Brunswick High School and our lunch stop will be at Lorain County Joint Vocational

School. The food at Ashland will help us meet a number of dietary needs: vegetarian, vegan, gluten free. We’ll be providing recreational options at Ashland such as swimming, hot tub use, video games, foosball, pool tables, etc. This is an air conditioned space where riders are welcome to hang out. Teams will get to showcase themselves and be as creative as they can in our new Team Village! We’ll be having an overnight party complete with entertainment and our new beer sponsor, Left Hand Brewing! Team Left Hand will also be riding in the event! The team raised over $1 million in fundraising this year for the Society! Check them out on Facebook!

Training Ride 411: Join us for a training ride on Saturday, May 9 at 9 a.m. at the Lorain Co. Joint Vocational School, 15181

State Route 58, Oberlin, OH. The Buckeye Breakaway ride will be the same route from Brunswick up until the lunch at the Lorain Co. JVS. We are offering a 45-50 mile ride for people to see most of the second half of the route. If you plan to participate, please send an email to ohabikems@nmss.org and put “Training Ride” in the subject and your name in the body of the email so we will who will be riding. If your team is hosting a training ride, be sure to share on social media so others can participate!

We encourage you to have friends and family members arrive early to decorate your tent and create a mini-party where you and your team members can enjoy the hope and inspiration of Bike MS! FUNdraiser Tip: Ask the restaurant manager at your favorite local restaurant to place a money jar at the front of the restaurant. They may be willing to place the jar in a high-traffic area so lots of patrons can see it.

About the event: Buckeye Breakaway team David & Koreen Bike the US 4 MS hosted their 2nd annual SPIN FOR A CURE at Pure Cycle Studio in Canfield OH. The event was Sunday, May 3. You could enter as a team (2 to 6 riders for 6 hours) for $100 or ride as an individual $20 per hour. Over 200 people participated and they raised over $9,000! There were even awards and prizes for participants!
