The most powerful hybrid Supercar of the world
hristian Von Koenigsegg has proved to be one of the most creative assembler chiefs of all times. With his team, he has prepared a mega car with a even more aggressive and powerful look than the Agera One. But it was not the biggest surprise in the Geneva motor show. What really impresses was the fact that the Koenigsegg Regera has no gear. Instead of a common transmission, with gears, differential and clutch, it has a system of direct transmission, formed by a set of three electrical engines, a biturbo V8 and a battery of 620 volts, capable of providing 9,27 kWh of energy. The heart and soul of this sports car is called Koenigsegg Direct Drive system, that combines a V8 of 5,0 liters engine with three electric engines totaling a maximum power of 1.800 hp. Out of the three electric engines, two are installed in each of the rear wheels in order to have a direct activation, while the third one is on the crankshaft in order to give it more torque and electrical generation to the starter engine. According to
Koenigsegg, this is “the most powerful electric engine of the production cars' history”. According to the manufacturer, the model goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2,8 seconds and from 150 to 250 km/h in 3,2 seconds. The most amazing fact is the promise of this sports car surpasses the barrier of 400 km/h in only 20 seconds breaking the famous Bugatti Veyron. Only 80 units of the Regera were made, a number that symbolizes “ the beginning of the domination, control and conquer in the Pythagoras Numerology”.
