he clients of the featured property are owners of the impressive 1930’s period country home, which nestles in the traditional pretty East Yorkshire village of Swanland. With original leaded windows, oak doors and touches of art deco architectural features throughout, the house required a fresh look. “What struck me when I first visited the property were the spacious rooms, the high curved ceilings and panelled doors with chunky deco handles. The main living room which led on from the kitchen had walls painted jet black, and there was little natural light to work with. The hallway had an electric blue carpet and yellow patterned wallpaper.... looking back over the ‘before’ photographs it’s hard to believe it’s the same house”. 62

Set within the Welsh countryside, this grand contemporary house required a kitchen to complement the client’s style and architectural features of the property. ArtHouse Creative interiors created a Classic BeauxArts lifestyle crafted with SieMatic furniture as the perfect choice. Our client commented “From our very first visit to ArtHouse & meeting with Emma, ArtHouse stood out from all other companies with regards to detail & design ideas. We desired a kitchen that would work for the family and as an entertaining space; ArtHouse gave us this and so much more”. To make a real ‘statement’ when walking into the kitchen, Emma designed a large 6m island, perfect for entertaining with a spacious breakfast bar and champagne trough. The main cooking zone is positioned to the back of the island with easy access to the main ovens and existing Sub Zero fridge/freezer. We introduced a Bora Basic hob to keep the ceiling free from an extractor fan as per the clients request for pendant lighting across the whole island space. Small appliances are hidden away in the pantry cabinet to keep the main work surface minimalistic with clean lines. Having previously had a SieMatic kitchen for 12 years, the client knew the quality of the product. With plans to knock a wall down between the formal lounge and kitchen to give them a larger open plan living space made designing the kitchen an absolute joy. They had a clear vision in terms of materials, specification and details with the design as they ran their own construction business. With this in mind, Emma designed a beautiful drinks area as a focal point

to the design with under counter Miele wine cabinets, matching Neolith worktops with a statement bookmatched splashback and above is the Gold bronze glass cabinets and feature lighting. This drinks area is positioned between the kitchen, new formal dining room and the informal lounge area to optimise functionality between the spaces. Emma really enjoyed working on this luxurious project as this design epitomises the timelessly elegant BeauxArts concept with segmented design elements that harmonious as a whole with the choice of materials and finishes. Our client’s reaction on completion of their dream kitchen was; “The end result is a beautiful large & light airy space that is a pleasure to both work in & entertain. We would highly recommend ArtHouse Creative Interiors, due to their quality in material, design, installation and customer service”.
