Detoxing in Today’s Age & Times The world is very different than what it was 20 years ago. So are our ways of detoxing. We talk about two effective ways to detox your skin and soul in 2019. By: Soumya Jain Ever wondered how our grandmothers’ skin was so soft always? And how our grandfathers always had time to play with their grand children once they were back from work? It was a different era, a different world. A world with lesser pollution and lesser stress. While we can’t reverse the time, we can help with two ways in which you could detox your skin and soul. Micellar Water With the environment we are living in – the air, the food, the water – everything has an affect on our skin. The air is greyer, the water is dirtier and the food is scarier. We have more skin allergies and problems than before. And while cleansing the skin is a popular routine, the invention of micellar water has made it easier. Micellar water is soft water with micelles in it. And Micelles are tiny balls of oil that are attracted to dirt and oil, naturally lifting impurities out of the skin without requiring aggressive rubbing. Micelles behave almost like magnets, pulling out the impurities and dirt, while protecting the skin's natural barrier. The micelles make it possible for the water to function as a cleanser, a makeup remover, and sometimes as a moisturizer as well. Made mostly with natural ingredients, the best micellar waters don’t require you to ‘work them into the skin’ like traditional cleansers. And while there are multiple options in the market today, some of the best micellar waters available are from Kiehl’s, Dior, Vichy, Eau Thermale Avene and Darphin.

Digital Detox Work is not over till you have checked all your social profiles on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Snapchat , responded to the messaged, put up one teeny-weeny post, liked the required number of food pictures and breezed through those stories. Unknowingly, we have created an alternate life which demands as much attention as the life we are living right now. And that’s why, you need digital detox.

Travelling is the new buzz-word nowadays. So why not travel to destinations which make it easy to dump the smartphone? Mongolia with its network free skies, Antarctica with its icy glaciers and Ayurveda retreats with their enforced digital-free space are some perfect places to detox in. Look around you, take in the fresh air and let your mind float. You can always post that picture later… Soumya Jain is the Chief Editor & CEO of LuxuryFacts.com – the first and only luxury blog and magazine in India.
