INTERIOR DESIGN PORTFOLIO

Autobiography My name is Lusmary Jimenez, I was born in 1993 in New York City. At 5 years old I moved to the Dominican Republic were I received my primary and secondary education. In 2011 after High-School graduation I moved back to New York City where I decided to fallow my dream and study Interior Design. My first step was to find a school for ESL (English as a Second Language) class. I attended to Zoni Language Center, where I studied English for 8 months. Later on I attended to Hunter Community College to complete an Interior Design course. I applied and joined the Interior Design major at The Art Institute of New York were I completed my Associated Degree.I live with my older brother Raymond Jimenez. He is studying Architecture at New York City College of Technology. He is a big help in my personal and career life. He always has advices whenever I need them. My parents Ramon Jimenez and Yvelisse Paniagua they both live in the Dominican Republic. They both travel back and forward between New York and Dominican Republic during the curse of the year. For me coming to live to New York was a drastic change in my life. The major difficulty that I had was learning the new language since English is not my first language. Another challenge was adaptive to the fast system of life in New York City. All of these challenges made me stronger and tough me how appreciate more the thing that I have. Motivating me to keep go to accomplish my goals. Interior design is a career that I have experience since I was a child. My mother completed several design courses like the making of candles, furniture, pillows and much more. I was always by her side helping her to design her projects. I also have a cousin who graduated from Interior Design. Since very young I’ve been expose to this career. I develop a strong attraction and enthusiasm towards Interior Design.
