THE APPALACHIAN TRAIL Trailhead located on Rte 522, 3 miles south of Front Royal • www.appalachiantrail.org The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a footpath extending 2,180 miles from ME to GA. Front Royal is a designated Appalachian Trail Community. The Visitors Center offers hospitality bags for hikers, as well as a hikers box program, lodging and shuttle information and a mail drop. The Front Royal Trolley also makes a morning and evening run to the Trail, May 1st - July 30th.

A large riverside picnic area, trails, river access and a car-top boat launch make this a popular destination for families, anglers and canoeists. Both camping and cabins are available. With 24 miles of trails and a new zipline, the park has plenty of options for hiking, biking, horseback riding and adventure.
