JANUARY RESTAURANT GIVE BACK - NOODLES & COMPANY! Mark your calendars for the next Lumen Christi Restaurant Give Back on Tuesday, January 24th at Noodles and Company in Fox Point. Noodles and Company will be donating 25% of sales back to Lumen Christi, but you must have the flyer in hand for our school to get credit! Watch for the flyer in this week’s Thursday folder. Questions? Contact Katie Hartzheim @ khartzheim@wi.rr.com

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK OPEN HOUSE Come to visit your child's classroom and teachers during the Catholic Schools Week Open House on Sunday, January 29th from 9:30am-12:30pm at both school campuses. There will be hospitality served in the cafeterias and all the classrooms will be open. This is a wonderful opportunity to see all the FAITH ACADEMICS - SERVICE at work in our children's school. Don't miss it!!

LOCKS OF LOVE AT DSHA In conjunction with Catholic School’s Week, current DSHA Senior and Lumen Christi alumna Quinn Otero plans to donate over 10 inches of hair to the non-profit organization Locks of Love. This is the 12th year that the Locks of Love assembly has taken place at DSHA. Please feel free to join us and show your support.

SHAMROCK MEETING

The next Shamrock meeting is scheduled for February 8th at 7:00 p.m. at Ozaukee Country Club.

7TH GRADERS – PPI FUN NIGHT

The 7th grade PPI Fun Night is for Saturday, February 4th. Please print out the permission slip in this week’s on-line Thursday folder. Come join students from Lumen Christi as well as Steffen and Lake Shore for a fun night of games, music, and prizes. Note: Electronics of any kind (cell phones!) are not allowed and parents need to sign both pages of the permission slip. Questions? Please call Nancy Klug – 238-1121 or Maria Greisch – 242-7358.

THERE’S STRENGTH IN NUMBERS! Get a Group Together and Donate. Embrace Shamrock 2012's theme and GATHER your friends, sports team or school group, GIVE some money to GROW your resources and support the school. Chat with your friends to discover what they'd like to see up for bid – something unique, something special – and go in together to make that wish a reality. Ideas include: jewelry, new gadgets, ski accessories, electronic games, or gift cards from the kids' favorite stores – think outside the box! All donations received by February 3 are guaranteed space in the catalog, but we’ll take what you have until March 9th! So don’t waste time, call your friends now to gather, give and grow!

SHOUT! ADVERTISE! UNDERWRITE! You can help support Shamrock 2012 by advertising and underwriting, and also by ordering a Shamrock "Shout Out". Shout outs are a fun way to share your message with others attending Shamrock. Shout outs are a 2 line message that will be published in the catalog and on the Shamrock website. And the $20 donation supports our school by offsetting some of the costs of Shamrock. See the flyer in the Thursday folder or visit www.shamrockfun.com for examples. Let's have a little fun with this! Questions - contact Kim Althaus at 262242-1963 or kimalthaus@gmail.com.

ORIENTATION TO 4TH GRADE It is hard to believe that we are already beginning to prepare for the 2012-2013 school year. New for this year, Lumen Christi will be offering an orientation for parents of the incoming fourth grade class on Tuesday, April 24th from 6:00 - 6:30 pm at the Mequon Campus. This event is designed to answer questions, provide information, meet the fourth grade teachers and tour the campus so you can prepare your child for a smooth transition. Please mark your calendar!

SKI/SNOWBOARDING NEWS We are excited to have 64 students signed up for this year! All information is coming out via email and if you have not received any news, please call Jane Bartlett ASAP. We need a parent to take over the Ski/Snowboarding club for next winter of 2013. It would be ideal if 1-2 parents could commit now so that they can be "trained"! Please call Jane Bartlett if interested: cell 414-9160632.

THE ANNUAL FUND The Annual Fund appeal was recently mailed to every registered parishioner. This Fund was designed to advance our school’s Catholic mission and strengthen our academic programs by closing the gap between the actual cost of your child’s education and tuition. The appeal is a key source of revenue for our budget. Donations directly impact the day-to-day operations of the school. Please be as generous as you are able, knowing that every gift improves the lives of our children! Submit In-Brief info to Cindy King (262)-242-7965 E-Mail: kingc@Lumenchristiparish.org Deadline: MONDAYS by 8:00 a.m. Please check our Parish School website at http://www.lumenchristiparish.org/school/ for more comprehensive information
