JANUARY RESTAURANT GIVE BACK - NOODLES & COMPANY! Mark your calendars for the next Lumen Christi Restaurant Give Back on Tuesday, January 24th at Noodles and Company in Fox Point. NEW FAMILY REFERRALS As we prepare for our primary recruitment time, we rely on our current families to help bring in prospective families. All families received an Open House postcard invitation last week and we are asking that you pass it on to a prospective family. More postcards are available in both school offices. There is also an Inquiry Form on the website (under Prospective Families), which can be used to submit a prospective family's contact information. Current families that refer a prospective family will be entered into a drawing for a Sendik's gift card. Congratulations to the Boyle family for winning the latest gift card. MASS HELPERS FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK We are asking for student volunteers to distribute Open House invites to parishioners after all Masses on Jan. 21 & 22. We are also in need of school families to serve as greeters and bring up the gifts during all Masses during the kick-off to Catholic Schools Week on Jan. 28 & 29. The form to volunteer is on the website under Headlines. All volunteers will receive a small token of appreciation for their time. We appreciate your help as we showcase our school to the Parish. Thank you!!
SHOUT! ADVERTISE! UNDERWRITE! Check out the Thursday folder this week to see how you can help support Shamrock 2012. In addition to advertising and underwriting, you can also order a Shamrock "Shout Out". Shout outs are a fun way to share your message with others attending Shamrock. Shout outs are a 2 line message that will be published in the catalog and on the Shamrock website. And the $20 donation supports our school by offsetting some of the costs of Shamrock. PARENTS ASSOCIATION... All are welcome. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month in Dominiac Hall at 9:00AM. Committee members are needed for Family Social and Funding. Come join in the fun. Parents Association is a great way to get involved and support Lumen Christi School.
SKI/SNOWBOARDING NEWS We are excited to have 64 students signed up for this year! All information is coming out via email and if you have not received any news, please call Jane Bartlett ASAP. We need a parent to take over the Ski/Snowboarding club for next winter of 2013. It would be ideal if 1-2 parents could commit now so that they can be "trained"! THE ANNUAL FUND The Annual Fund appeal was recently mailed to every registered parishioner. This Fund was designed to advance our school’s Catholic mission and strengthen our academic programs by closing the gap between the actual cost of your child’s education and tuition. The appeal is a key source of revenue for our budget. Donations directly impact the day-to-day operations of the school. Please be as generous as you are able, knowing that every gift improves the lives of our children!

PPP is presenting a talk on pressure, stress and anxiety in teens on Friday, January 13 from 11:45 – 1:30. Dr. Cole will lecture to the parents of middle school and high school students in the Range Line School Conference Room.

6th Grade PPI Fun Night Saturday, February 11th, 2012 7:00pm-9:00pm
Homestead High School Please join all Mequon-Thiensville 6th graders for an evening of swimming, basketball, volleyball, music/DJ, ping- pong, games, speed pitch, pizza and more! **Any student wishing to swim MUST have their SWIMSUIT and TOWEL** Please drop off students at the Cafeteria entrance at 7pm and pick them up promptly at 9:00. They need to check in at the registration desk and pick up their name tag. Parents MUST come inside the building to pick up their child. The cost of this night is $8.00. Please complete the permission slip below and return to your schoolâ€™s office. Make checks payable to PPI. Students WILL NOT be admitted without a permission slip. Permission slips due back by Tuesday, February 7th, 2012. NO ELECTRONICS will be allowed at the Fun Night. Parents, please see the PPI Rules and Expectations form, complete it with signatures and send back with permission slip. We want this to be a fun, safe event for your child and are doing this for their protection, as well as ours.

PPI Fun Night Rules and Expectations 1. Respect all adult leaders, high school leaders and each other. 2. At no time should students be in unsupervised areas of HHS. 3. Damage done to school properties will come out of your piggy bank. 4. Students have to check in at the registration desk. 5. Students need to wear their name tag all evening in a visible location. 6. Parents need to enter HHS to pickup their students. 7. Cell phones ARE NOT ALLOWED. Students may use leader始s cell phones if needed. 8. Electronic devices such as, but not limited to MP3 devices, iPods, music players, gaming devices, and laser pointers ARE NOT ALLOWED. 9. Skateboards, scooters, rip sticks, bikes and rollerblades ARE NOT ALLOWED. 10.Alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, drugs, and weapons ARE FORBIDDEN. Any students who do no meet these expectations and break these rules will have their parent/guardian notified and they will be removed from the activities until they are picked up by parent/guardian. While we do not foresee any need for such disciplinary measures, we do want our expectations and rules to be clear.
