IMPORTANT SCHEDULE CHANGE

There has been a change in the previously scheduled Early Release day on Friday, February 22nd. This will now be a FULL day OFF of school. Monday, February 25th will be a FULL day IN school. Please be sure to change your calendars.

BRAWL FOR THE BALL

The 8th Grade Boys Brawl for the Ball Basketball tournament will be January 8, 10, and 12 at the Mequon gym. Games will run from 5:00 – 9:00 on Tuesday and Thursday, and 5:30 – 9:30 on Saturday night. Come for the game, stay for dinner! Lumen Christi students wearing LC spirit wear will get into the games for free!

DON’T FORGET TO TURN IN YOUR HANDBOOK RELEASE FORM Check the Thursday folder or get one from the office. We need one from every family – thank you! 

HELP US KEEP OUR SCHOOL SAFE

When you exit the building, please check the door and make sure it locks behind you. This applies when school is in session as well as when you are in the building after hours for sports or parish events. Please help us by pulling on the door after it closes to make sure it is locked. Thank you for helping us keep our school safe!

ST. HYACINTH SOCK, HAT, MITTEN COLLECTION Thank you for your generous support of our sock and mitten collection. There were almost 700 pairs of socks and over 400 hats, gloves and mittens! On Friday they had “Toy Day” and over 200 families came and had an opportunity to pick their own hat or mitten/glove. Socks will be distributed throughout the winter. The volunteers were brought to tears by your generosity when they came to pick up the items. Thank you and God bless you for helping so many in need.

BOOT BAGS AVAILABLE IN BOTH SCHOOL OFFICES Boot bags are still available at both school offices for $5.00. Please stop in and get a boot bag for your child’s winter items!

GOLDEN EAGLE’S READING REWARDS PROGRAM Kids at Archdiocesan Schools in grades K-8 are invited to take part in the Golden Eagles Reading Rewards program sponsored by the Marquette Women’s Basketball Team. During Christmas break, students must read at least 5 hours. Each student will need to write the title of the book on the bookmark they brought home from school and have a parent or guardian initial it with the amount of hours read. Parents of K-2nd grade students may read to their children in order for the student to participate. See additional information on the material sent home. Don’t forget to return your bookmark right after the Christmas Break!!

SHAMROCK FINNIGAN’S FORTUNE RAFFLE Help make Shamrock 2013 Finnegan’s Fortune Raffle a success. How? Donate on your own or gather a group…a sports team, Girl Scout Troop, Cub Scout Den, or grade level group to donate. Some "wish list" items right now are a Wii-U or an X-box and an iPad. These are simply ideas. We can even do the shopping for you! Contact Sarah Bahr (262-2435268). Thank you for your support!

THE ANNUAL FUND

May your Christmas be enriched with a childlike awareness of God's most precious Gift.

Thank you to everyone who has generously given to the Annual Fund. Your faithful support makes an important difference. May God bless you for sharing your gifts with our school family.

ATTENTION STUDENTS IN GRADES 6th-8th – SKI CLUB

For those interested in Ski Club, please make sure to check the Thursday folder for important ski club forms. If you have not participated in any school sport this year, please be sure to fill out the Archdiocesan athletic medical emergency and information forms located under the athletics section on the web site. Ski Club will begin shortly after we return from Christmas Break, so be sure to turn them in!

SPREAD THE SPIRIT OF LUMEN CHRISTI! All families with children in 3K-5th grade received Lumen Christi referral business cards so you can help us spread the Spirit of Lumen Christi. Please give these to your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, or anyone else who may be interested in finding out more about Lumen Christi Catholic School. Be sure to put YOUR name on the referred by line and have the prospective family return the referral card at our Open House on January 27th - you could win a Sendik's gift card! Additional referral cards are available in both school offices. We sincerely appreciate your help in recruiting new families to become part of our school family. Thank you!

WE ARE ALL PARENT AMBASSADORS! As we enter into our next recruitment season, our current parents are our best ambassadors. We’d like you to spread the word about Lumen Christi Catholic School to your friends, neighbors, and family. Through your child's classroom teacher (3K-5th), you will receive some Lumen Christi Catholic School business cards to help make prospective families aware of our school and upcoming Open House. Please remember to put your name on the “Referred By” line, as we will be having a drawing for a Sendik’s gift card after our Open House for those families who have made referrals. There are additional referral cards available through the school offices. If you have any questions, please call Laura Rowe at (262)512-8996. Thank you!!
