Project mixture of decorated shed and duck. Outside building appearance based on 2-D icon study, highlighting structure's appearance, an abstract image of human head, from distance that hints at programs inside. Interior spatial layout per customized sectional cuts. Singular, isolated structure off highway exit, building is concert venue with composition, construct of Hieronymus Bosch’s triptych painting, "The Garden of Earthly Delights", divided into thirds: Lobby "heaven" depicts peaceful, positive interactions; Mid-venue "transition" section hosts both virtuous and illicit activities; Back stage "hell" designed for prohibited actions. Each sector has differently structured floor plans, sections. Subdivisions tailored to people's activities.

RELAX SERVICE

15 I FRONT IS BACK

The case study house project is completely designed in orthographic “front” view, using mix of one point perspective. Use of perspective create false interior in the front of façade, it also generate negative spaces on an inside of the house located on the opposite side of the facade. All of the negative spaces are occupied by services spaces. The project is creating an effect of reversibility by repealing a typical program layout of the house. The most private spaces are moved to the front and public to the back. False-positive focuses on the issue of frontality and facaility of the “front” and the “back” of the house. The project completely disobeys both sides of the house based on location and narrow site condition.

PLAY LIVE INTERACT GOOSE ISLAND

The project has urban characteristics and focuses on the connections between a variety of different urban spaces surrounding Goose Island . The new construction of landscape is introduced by placing a golf course onto the boundaries of Goose Island. The golf course creates many opportunities which will help generate a wide range of connections between city and that of Goose Island. The rotation of the island is the main focal point, focusing on a more welcoming appearance replacing the industrial look and producing new residential areas associated with the design of golf course. The residential buildings on the West zone creates a barrier from the highway and railroads trucks which are located on the west side of the project. The rotation of the whole island forms two big bodies of water on both sides of the island which help generate the development of new opportunities for activities. The new layout’s creation of two side water banks adds a beautiful man made attraction to the city of Chicago. In addition to the banks a public park also runs across the island, it wraps around of the outside edge of water banks creating a welcoming vibe to attract and interact with the public’s interest.
