Book Blind Date
Not choosing a book by its cover. Nor its author. Nor its title, nor even its praises. This was the idea behind the American Book Center game of buying a book by its key words, without being persuaded by any texts or images. The idea behind my photo documentary is the surprise of readers unwrapping the book and seeing what they actually bought. First they appear with the wrapped book with the key words and then they unwrap it and their expressions are captured by the lenses until they reveal the book to us.
