2015 - Bachelor thesis

BALOON

The project started with a brief given by Ghelfi Ondulati which wanted to create a new packaging for Porta Palazzo’s market. The goal of my project was to make the market more attractive to young generation, making it more close to nowadays needs. The aim was to launch and promote the identity of the place with a new product-service system addressing new relevance to products sold and peddlers. Thanks to the digital printed texture (QR code) the product becomes a vehicle of a service which allows users to keep in touch with the market reality and promote it through the social media.

01.2 THE SAFETY TOUR FOR MSC The project developeed for MSC was looking for a disruprive innvation of the cruisers expercience. The work detected a huge loss of value and a huge opportunity, for the company in the safety drill. Nowadays, this pain moment bring a lot of bad reviews every year due to its passivity and low effectiveness. Then aim was to change the security drill from a pain moment to an interactive and learning experience which people can remember. the advantage would mean better reviews, but most of all, more security in the emergency situations. Taking the museum experiece as a source of inspiration, the new security drill has became a tour where the security features of the boat will be the art pieces of the exposition, while the digital interaction will be the mean through which people interact with them. Aaugmented reality, Quits and score, smaller group guided through the boat spots, customized audio themes, are the distincitve features of the new experience.

01.3 SWATCH YOU LIKE IS SWATCH YOU GET Until now, there is no real value for people in downloading an app such as the m-commerce of Swatch. The new app will serves as a “tracking” tool to collect all the “liked” images and the details of the product illustrated in the image (price, collection, store locator, buy option, suggestion of similar products). The idea mainly focuses on the use of social media and it leverages on the fact that social networks are used on a daily basis. The interaction between social media and application will be fully exploited through this solution: the app will be linked to the person’s likes on Swatch images (on Instagram and Facebook) and will keep track of them. The app won’t be as invasive as a normal app, as it will just requires for the user to initially connect his/her social media with the app. Then, it will simply collect the person’s likes, by enriching them with information and with the possibility to buy the product. This will guide the person in his eventual (or future) choice, without interfering too much with his/her life. Application mock-up is shown

02.2 KOOOI Product for “Killer Plastik” disco-pub in Milan with a virtual cooperation with Moooi company. Killer plastick is one of the most famous gay-disco in the world, it rapresents a place where people can feel free to espress themselves without being judged. this conceptual product is focused on these needs and it is placed at the entrance of the disco-pub, marking the border between social taxation and freedom. The form and the essence of Koooi is inspired by the butterfly’s metamorphosis which symbolises the transition from constriction to freedom.

Koooi is a black geometric shaped cage with a mirror inside where the structure reminds to a chrysalis. The reflection on the mirror brings the user to recall his constricted status in the society and remarks the freedom inside the Plastik. The aim to give a strong and iconic characterisation to the object ensues by trasgressive spirit of the disco-pub and also by eccentric objects of moooi’s catalogue.

COPPER ENGRAVING For a privat client, relization of artworks made by engraving copper tecnique. This technique is very old and unknown. It is made with a mixure of hot tar where the cooked copper is sticked on. Through the hammer and the iron stamp it is possible engrave the sheet of copper. It is a long process because the sheet needs to be re-cooked and re-engraved on the opposite face to obtain a high quality of the drawing. I really love this technique
