Seussical SUN | JAN 22, 2017 | 1 & 4 PM $15 “Oh, the thinks you can think” when Dr. Seuss’s best-loved stories collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper! Adapted from the Broadway version, this musical adaptation, especially for young audiences, features The Cat in the Hat as the host and emcee (and all-around mischief-maker) in this romp through the Seuss classics. When the sweet, good-natured elephant Horton hears a small cry for help coming from a small speck of dust, he promises to rescue and guard it because “a person’s a person, no matter how small.” Along the way, Horton meets JoJo, an imaginative young Who from Who-Ville; Miss Gertrude McFuzz, the one-feathered bird; and the amazingly lazy Maysie La Bird. Dr. Seuss’s beloved classic characters find themselves intertwined in an incredible crazy-quilt adventure, in which the power of imagination and the most miraculous “think” ever save the day! This program is approximately one hour in length and is appropriate for audiences in grades K-5. Photos and study guide are available at Luhrscenter.com. www.theatreworksusa.org Please note, all children and infants, regardless of age, must have a ticket.

ZZ Top, aka “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas,” lay undisputed claim to being the longest-running major rock band with original personnel intact. Of course, there are only three of them—Billy F Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard—but it’s still a remarkable achievement that they’re still together after more than 45 years of rock, blues, and boogie on the road and in the studio. The band is known for such mega-hits as “Tush,” “La Grange,” “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Legs,” and many more. Billy Gibbons expressed enthusiasm for The Tonnage Tour. “It’s gonna be a good time,” he commented. “We’ve been at this long enough that we’re starting to get good. In 1967 five young men walked into Abbey Road Studios—#3, tinkered with the gear that was left behind from the previous session (by none other than The Beatles’ recording Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band), and set out to make an album their own way. Of course, they never dreamed the results would loom so large in their lives. Ironically, although it led to the breakup of the original line-up, Odessey and Oracle produced the group’s biggest hit a year later (“Time of the Season”), and became a musical touchstone for generations to come. 50 years later, it brings the four surviving members, Colin Blunstone on lead vocals, Rod Argent on keyboards/ vocals, Chris White on bass/vocals, and Hugh Grundy on drums, back together on stage to perform the album in its entirety for the final time. www.thezombiesmusic.com

For Saturday or Sunday performances, the Box Office will open two hours prior to curtain time unless otherwise specified. Summer hours, May 15 through August 18, 2017 are 11am to 4pm. Address (via Google map): 475 Lancaster Drive, Shippensburg, PA. Location, Directions & Parking Information can be located at luhrscenter.com.

Ticket Purchasing The Luhrs Center Box Office is the only official outlet to purchase Luhrs Center tickets. In the interest of preserving affordable ticket prices for all patrons, the Luhrs Center is not responsible for tickets purchased through unauthorized third parties. Visit luhrscenter.com to order your tickets online–the fastest, easiest and most efficient way to get your tickets! (Credit card orders only.) Please note that a non-refundable $2 per ticket internet service charge will be applied to each ticket purchased as well as a non-refundable $4 postage and handling fee for the entire ticket order when tickets are mailed. These fees are non-refundable whether the show is cancelled or postponed for any reason. To avoid these fees, order tickets directly by contacting the Box Office at 717.477.SHOW (7469). *Please note that a $35 service charge will be imposed on each returned check in addition to any charges that may be assessed by the financial institution. The Luhrs Center also requires that the check writer pay the amount due with cash, certified check or money order.

Ticket Policies Children—All children, including infants, are required to hold tickets for performances at the Luhrs Center and must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian in all areas of the Luhrs Center, especially Grove Theatre. The Luhrs Center reserves the right to preclude the attendance of children under the age of five years if the Luhrs Center determines that the nature of the performance requires it. Exchanges and Refunds—Please note that all ticket sales are final. No refunds or exchanges will be given under any circumstance unless an event is cancelled or rescheduled (see next section). Internet fees and mailing fees are not refundable under any circumstances. Please purchase tickets directly through the Luhrs Center Box Office to avoid these fees. The Luhrs Center does not rate performer content or make a judgement about the suitability of a performance unless the performer informs the Luhrs Center that the performance may not be suitable for all age groups. The Luhrs Center strongly urges ticket buyers to be informed about the performers/performances for which they are purchasing tickets. Performer content is not a reason for a ticket exchange or refund. Cancelled or Rescheduled Events—If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, the Luhrs Center Box Office will contact ticket purchasers via letter, email or phone as soon as the cancellation/postponement is announced and communicate available ticket refund options. If an event is cancelled, ticket purchasers will be refunded the amount of the tickets; however, the Luhrs Center does not refund the handling/mailing or internet fees related to the ticket purchase. If an event is rescheduled, you will be contacted by the Luhrs Center Box Office via letter, email or phone and provided with information about the various ticket refund/exchange options. Please note that oftentimes the decision to reschedule a cancelled event is up to the artist and promoter and not necessarily the host venue. Also note that inclement weather is not cause for a refund or exchange unless the performance is actually cancelled or postponed. A cancellation or postponement notice will be posted on the event page of the Luhrs Center website located at luhrscenter.com. Replacement of Tickets—If your tickets have been lost, damaged, or stolen, please contact the Luhrs Center Box Office at 717.477.SHOW (7469) for assistance prior to the performance date. Handicap and Special Needs—Patrons requiring information concerning the availability of special accommodations or services for Luhrs Center performances should call the Box Office at 717.477.SHOW (7469) or you can purchase wheelchair accessible seating online. Some special services require at least two weeks notification to make the appropriate arrangements.
