Discover Europe’s most spectacular golf courses! Golf Clubs on the Rhine LE KEMPFERHOF GOLF ET CHÂTEAU-HÔTEL The Golf Club is located 15 minutes from Strasbourg in the beautiful Alsace region of France and stretches across 85 hectares of tranquil, natural woodland. The Kempferhof golf course is listed as one of the top 5 golf courses in France, as well as one of the 15 best courses in continental Europe by the Rolex World’s Top 1000 Golf Courses guide. The 18-hole course was designed by the American architect Robert von Hagge and opened in 1990. Hundred-year-old oaks, poplars and beech trees line the beautiful and challenging course, which features 13 water hazards, undulating fairways, large bunkers and immaculate greens. As you reach the 18th hole, you will see enchanting views of the Château-Hôtel, which was built in 1865 by Jean de Dartein, who was inspired by Gaudi’s style, as well as the 19th century hunting lodge, which now serves as the clubhouse. Test every aspect of your game with this top-quality golf course, while enjoying the peace of nature! GOLF CLUB ST. LEON-ROT The Golf Club, which opened in 1997, is situated near Heidelberg and sets a benchmark for golf clubs. The complex, masterminded by the founder Dietmar Hopp, boasts two 18-hole championship courses, a 9-hole executive course and a children’s course. The English golf course architect Dave Thomas designed the St. Leon course as a links-style course, reminiscent of Scottish or Irish golf courses. The course became famous in 2002 when the world’s number one player Tiger Woods won his third Deutsche Bank SAP Open there. The Rot course was designed by architect Hannes Schreiner, who retained much of the original river wetland, ensuring that the course offers not only charming scenery but also presents special challenges. The island green of the Rot course and the island fairway of the St. Leon course are the signature holes of the club. The Golf Club is one of the “Leading Golf Courses in Germany” as well as one of the “European Tour Destinations” (since 2012). JAKOBSBERG GOLF RESORT Set high above the Lorelei valley in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley between Koblenz and Mainz, deservedly a UNESCO World Heritage Region, the Jakobsberg Golf Resort boasts a truly majestic setting. The golf course is nestled between forests and vineyards, situated on the Jakobsberg in Boppard. The 18-hole golf course was established in 1990 and opened in 1994. It was built by Wolfgang Jarsombek, who based his design on a model by the renowned American golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. The course serves as a 3rd level tour venue and has hosted several German PGA events. The strongly 8

modelled fairways each feature four different teeing grounds, as well as large bunkers, a good number of water hazards and undulating greens. The course is sporting but fair and you may find that your greatest golfing challenge at the Jakobsberg Golf Resort will be not to get distracted by the spectacular natural surroundings and the panoramic views of the legendary Lorelei valley, Marksburg castle and the Westerwald and Hunsrück hills. GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB VELDERHOF The Velderhof Golf Club extends over an idyllic and tranquil lowland surrounded by extensive forests. It is conveniently and centrally situated about thirty minutes from both the historic city of Cologne and Düsseldorf. The main feature of the club is the championship course, designed by golf architect Dieter R. Sziedat, which provides suitable challenges for players of all handicap levels. The 27 holes stretch over 3 courses, with 9-hole and 18-hole options. The golf course follows the ancient lines originally carved into the landscape by the legendary Rhine River. It features fast greens, wide fairways, well-placed fairway bunkers and exciting water hazards, all surrounded by picturesque streams and biotopes. The Velderhof Golf Club is generously laid out and all facilities are kept in peak condition. The driving range features brand-new grass tees which extend over 2,500m² in front of the range. Combining modernity with history, the range retains the charm of the original architecture of the former barn and fits harmoniously with the historic ambience of Velderhof.

Golf Clubs on the Danube PANNÓNIA GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB It is picturesquely situated in a valley bordering the Etyek wine region, east of the Hungarian capital Budapest. The 18-hole championship course was designed by the prominent Austrian architect Hans G. Erhardt and opened in 1996. Since then, it has staged many national and international events, including tournaments such as the BMW Golf Cup International and events sanctioned by the European Golf Association (EGA). The elegant clubhouse was designed by famous Hungarian neoclassical architect Mihály Pollack and blends beautifully with the wine-growing scenery. On the course, idyllic lakes serve as obstacles for eight holes. Doglegs provide suspense at holes 9 and 11 and pin placements may also present a challenge at the hilly greens. The immaculately maintained course meets the highest European standards and offers players both a technically challenging as well as an optically appealing experience with its combination of beautiful vegetation, water hazards and sand bunkers.

PENATI GOLF RESORT The Golf resort is nestled in the Zahorie region of western Slovakia, not far from the town of Senica. The club offers two 18-hole courses the challenging Legend course, which opened in 2012, and the Heritage course, which opened in 2013. The Legend course stretches over 95 hectares and was created by Nicklaus Designs, a company founded by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus and considered one of the world’s leading golf course design firms, with 60% of the world’s PGA tournamenthosting golf courses to their name. This course offers golfers undulating fairways, challenging bunkers and variable teeing placements, allowing golfers to control the difficulty level of their game. The signature holes of the Legend course are the 716-meter 15th hole, which is the longest hole in Europe, as well as the final hole, which is the narrowest hole on the green and plays onto a beautiful island green, and will undoubtedly provide an exciting finish to the game. The second 18-hole course, the Heritage course, was designed by J. Davison and the world-renowned Mick McShane and returns to the roots of island-design courses. FONTANA GOLF CLUB The Club’s championship course promises an unforgettable golfing experience. Situated about 30 kilometers south of Vienna, the golf course is set in a lush natural setting and offers a view of the Schneeberg, the highest mountain in Lower Austria, and the foothills of the Viennese Forest. Conceptualized by the well-known Canadian architect Doug Carrick, the layout and design of the golf course provides players with a top-class, international golfing experience that is both challenging and fair. The course opened for play in 1996 and, from 2006 to 2009, hosted the European Tour in Austria and has since been considered one of the best golfing locations in Austria and Europe. Due to constant improvements and renovation, the Fontana course is expected to become one of the top 10 golf courses in Europe. The exciting 18-hole course will challenge players with its numerous bunkers and water hazards, combined with some easier holes to give a satisfying, wellrounded experience. QUELLNESS GOLF RESORT / BECKENBAUER GOLF COURSE Picturesquely situated in the peaceful Bavarian countryside, the Quellness Golf Resort features the distinguished, 18-hectar Beckenbauer Golf Course, a championship course designed by renowned golfer Bernhard Lange. This exclusive course is one of the select few to host PGA European Tour events, specifically the Challenge Tour, which was held here from 2013 to 2015. In addition, in 2015 and 2016, the Beckenbauer Golf Course hosted the Porsche European Open, and in 2017, it was the venue for the Paul Lawrie Matchplay. The course has been praised by some of the world’s foremost players for its technical challenges as well as its impeccable condition. The flat but varied terrain incorporates a multitude of water hazards, such as streams, flood plains, and lakes, and requires golfers to play a precise game. Holes 9 and 18 provide the opportunity for particularly spectacular shots onto island greens. The hand-mown greens and fairways remain in top condition even in the height of summer.

Golf Clubs on the Seine

The Albatros course masterfully combines a traditional links feel with the modern features of target golf. Golf National’s second 18-hole course, the Aigle, offers a more relaxed experience – a perfect warm-up course for the more challenging Albatros course. Oiselet, the 9-hole third course of Golf National, is ideal for practice sessions. GOLF HOTEL DE SAINT SAËNS The Golf Club is situated between Rouen and Dieppe, bordering the Eawy Forest – the largest beechwood forest in France. Designed by architect Denis Robinson, the first five holes of the golf course opened in 1988. The course opened fully in 1989 and has hosted various European championships. The 71-par woodland golf course stretches over 6009 meters and is considered one of the most picturesque courses in Normandy, providing not only a charming setting but also a challenging course with plenty of variety for players, as it is composed of three distinct sections, each of which presents its own unique challenges. From hole 1 to hole 5, the Varenne River flows along the greens and fairways. The next section, up to hole 10, is characterized by a lovely beech and oak forest. Finally, on the other side of the forest, the course opens onto a plateau, with spectacular views of the Normandy countryside and the club house, which is housed in the charming 19th century manor, “Le Vaudichon”. GOLF D’ÉTRETAT Set above the cliffs of Étretat with a spectacular view of the English Channel, the magnificent, wave-cut arches of the famous cliffs and the charming village below, the Étretat Golf Club is considered one of the three best French seaside golf courses. The club, which is over 100 years old, was founded in 1908 by Englishmen. The first president was Bernard Forbes, 8th Earl of Granard. The original 13-hole course was designed by Julien Chantepie and Arnaud Massy (the only Frenchman to have won the Open). The club closed during WW II, but reopened in 1949, after the landmines had been cleared out. Didier Fruchet revised the layout in the 1990s and today the resort extends over 6,000 meters. The 18-hole course will test every facet of players’ games, particularly with the exciting sequence of holes at the back nine, between the 10th and the 14th, where the fairways run along the cliff edge. DU VAUDREUIL GOLF CLUB The du Vaudreuil Golf Club is situated in a picturesque area with a rich history stretching back to prehistoric times. This countryside was a destination much favored by kings of France, due to its exceptional location in the Seine loop in Normandy. Much later, the Marquis Marc de la Haye bought the 90 hectares that make up the golf course today and commissioned renowned English golf architect Fred Hawtree to design the course, which opened in 1962. It has been modernized to suit present-day playing requirements by his son, Martin. The clubhouse, considered one of the most beautiful in France, is a 17th century barn originally located in the village, which was dismantled and reassembled on the estate. In 2008, Jean-Claude Forestier became the new owner of the club and is responsible for its current excellence, including its classification as a PGA venue. The narrow, tree-lined fairways, water hazards, and bunkers offer suitable challenges for all playing levels.

LE GOLF NATIONAL The Golf National complex, founded in 1985, is situated southwest of Paris in Saint-Quentinen-Yvelines, near the Palace of Versailles. Designed by architects Hubert Chesneau and Robert von Hagge as a permanent home for the Open de France, Le Golf National features the championship Albatros course, which is considered one of the best in Europe. Extensive renovations have taken place on the Albatros course since it was chosen as the host venue for the Ryder Cup 2018. Players can expect a course that offers plenty of risk/reward situations, with undulating fairways and links-style bunkers, and can look forward to the challenging water hazards that surround the final four holes. 9

DUDOK QUARTET

After completing their studies with distinction at the Dutch String Quartet Academy in 2013, the Quartet started to have success at international competitions and to be recognized as one of the most promising young European string quartets of the year. In 2014, they were awarded the Kersjes Prize for their exceptional talent in the Dutch chamber music scene. The Quartet was also laureate and winner of two special prizes during the 7th International String Quartet Competition 2013 à Bordeaux and won 1st place at both the 1st International String Quartet Competition 2011 in Radom (Poland) and the 27th Charles Hennen International Chamber Music Competition 2012. In 2012, they received 2nd place at the 6th Joseph Joachim International Chamber Music Competition in Weimar (Germany). The members of the quartet first met in the Dutch street symphony orchestra “Ricciotti”. From 2009 until 2011, they studied with the Alban Berg Quartet at the School of Music in Cologne, then to study with Marc Danel at the Dutch String Quartet Academy. During the same period, the quartet was coached intensively by Eberhard Feltz, Peter Cropper (Lindsay Quartet), Luc-Marie Aguera (Quatuor Ysaÿe) and Stefan Metz.

NATHAN QUARTET

Many well-known contemporary classical composers such as Kaija Saariaho, Mark-Anthony Turnage, Calliope Tsoupaki and Max Knigge also worked with the quartet. In 2014, the Quartet signed on for several recordings with Resonus Classics, the world’s first solely digital classical music label. They performed with many renowned guest musicians such as Pieter Wispelwey, Dmitri Ferschtman, Quirine Viersen, Hannes Minnaar and Mikhail Zemtsov. The musicians have also performed at many prestigious festivals and performed concerts at every major concert hall in the Netherlands, as well as venues in France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Cyprus. The quartet took its name from Willem Marinus Dudok (1884 —1974) who was a famous Dutch architect and a great lover of music. He came from a musical family and composed music in his spare time. “I owe more to composers than I owe to any architect”, he wrote. “I feel deeply the common core of music and architecture; after all, they both derive their value from the right proportions.”

The Nathan Quartet (Dana Anka, Maja Hunziker, Roswitha Killian, Arne-Christian Pelz) was founded in Hamburg and is firmly anchored in the musical life of the Hanseatic city. Since 2005, the Nathan Quartet has been organizing two concert series of its own: in Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle and in Scala Basel. With five concerts in the season, the Nathan Quartet shows its unique continuity in the concert activity, always featuring special programs. The fresh and lively musical style of the ensemble is characterized by a musical commitment to the continuous development of the works for the concerts in Basel and Hamburg. The Quartet followed masterclasses with the Amadeus Quartet and the Borodin Quartet, thus developing a large and varied quartet repertoire. One focus of the quartet work is the performance of modern and contemporary compositions, which are carefully selected according to musical content. These are works by famous composers of the 20th century such as Kurtág, Ligeti, Shostakovich, Bartók and Lera Auerbach as well as by contemporary composers who find a podium through the compositions commissioned by the Nathan Quartet. The Nathan Quartet is the initiator of chamber music highlights in the concert life of Hamburg and Basel. The four musicians strive to create many inspiring moments and shared musical experiences, as they are possible in the atmosphere of a concert hall in front of a music-interested audience.

SALZBURG SOLOISTS

The ensemble has been dazzling audiences and invigorating the music world since its founding by the Salzburg violinist Luz Leskowitz in 1979, with the aim of bringing together highly qualified young soloists and chamber musicians. The seven strings (two violins, two violas, two violoncellos and a double bass) all hold either leading positions in top European orchestras and/or teach at music conservatories. They gave their first concert, together with Jeremy Menuhin at the piano, in July 1979 at the “Harzburger Musiktage”(Germany), created

by Luz Leskowitz. The ensemble is unique because all its members are soloists of comparable standard, able to perform the widest range of chamber music in all imaginable combinations — from solo works to small orchestral works. They are guided by the same spirit and aim to achieve a perfect musical dialogue among equals. The Salzburger Solisten soon acquired a high reputation during international tours to London (Wigmore Hall), Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), Vienna (Musikverein), Brussels, Hamburg, Paris (Salle Gaveau), Copenhagen, Bulgaria (Sofia Sala), Bologna, Geneva, Barcelona, Lisbon, Sao Paulo, Budapest, Tokyo, Sasayama (where they performed the Schubertiade together with Jörg Demus), among others. The Salzburger Solisten was the ensemble of the “Salzburger Schlosskonzerte”, the largest concert series in the world with more than 250 concerts a year, which was directed and owned by Luz Leskowitz for 25 years. They have performed together along with famous musicians such as Jeremy Menuhin, Hermann Baumann, Hakan Hardenberger, Hansjörg Schellenberger, Jörg Demus, Detlef Kraus, Ingrid Haebler, Paul Badura-Skoda, Elly Ameling, Karl Leister, Wolfgang Schulz, Igor and Valery Oistrach, Mstislav Rostropovitch, the Bartok Quartet, the Voces Quartet, the Kocian Quartet, the Lark Quartet and many others.
