For your opening tee shot of the day, you will find plenty of space to play with. Ideally keep your ball up the left half of the fairway as this gives you the best line for your approach shot to this green, which is beautifully framed by the trees. You will be met by alongish green which slopes from left to right, so take care on your first putt of the day.
One of golf’s great pleasures is to play from an elevated tee to a green below. The second hole at Mid Herts offers such a prospect, made all the more interesting by the tree lined tee. Not a long par three, but you need to be pinpoint with your shot as bunkers, mounds and slopes have to be negotiated if you miss the green here.
This tee shot will get your attention! Thread your drive through the funnel of trees and then face a challenging approach to a compact green guarded by a hollow on the left and bunker to the right. Par whether gross or net is very welcome here.
