o you want to lose weight? How about build muscle? Maybe you just want to intensify your workout so you can spend less time at the gym and more time living life? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then boot camp is for you! Hard but not impossible, boot camp is the most effective way to whip anyone’s body into shape. It incorporates plyometrics or “jump training,” which increases speed and power by using a large amount of muscle power in a short period of time, and “interval training,” which alternates high intensity exercise with a low intensity recovery.
Get your assets into shape! Some examples of boot camp exercises include power lunges, plyo pushups, burpees and jump squats. These moves are simple to do, but complex enough to keep your muscles engaged and working overtime. Boot camp is also done in groups, promoting “camaraderie” or friendship and team effort. This is quite a unique and special program because not only does it boost your metabolism and burn fat, but it
also improves your interpersonal skills. Can you develop a friendship on a treadmill? We didn’t think so! Inspired by military personnel who use a similar method for training, boot camp exercises focus on cardio, strength and agility. You can achieve your weight loss, strength and flexibility goals with this intense workout because it incorporates all the necessary types of fitness. At all of our gyms we offer amazing boot camp classes that will surely push you past your limits and leave you feeling great as you sweat your way to a toned, strong and sexy body. You will increase your overall energy, decrease body fat and increase flexibility and you can do this in less time than you spend on the treadmill or elliptical. What are you waiting for? Stop by the front desk and find out more!

10 Facts About STI’s
Keep Your Lady Parts in Check
Every year there are more than 19 million new cases of STIs in the U.S. By age 25, roughly one in two sexually active people will get an STI.
Women often confuse STIs with yeast infections and other conditions. That’s why it’s important to see a health care provider, who can determine what (if any) STIs you should be tested for. STIs, including HIV, often have NO symptoms. Zero. That’s right. So, many people who are infected don’t even know it!
Putting off getting care for an STI can have lasting health effects for both women and men. Left untreated, some STIs can cause infertility or increase your risk of getting cancer.
You can’t assume that you have been tested for STIs if you have had blood taken, given a urine sample, or had a pelvic exam or pap test. If you want to know, ASK to be tested.
When making your appointment for STI testing, ask about the health center’s privacy policies: Will they call you at home with test results? Will they send a bill to you? Will they send other
mail? Every facility works differently—it’s OK to ask. Be honest and open with your health care provider about your sexual history. They are there to help you, not to judge you. Certain STIs are so common that your health care provider may suggest that you get tested regularly for them.

Okay, so you have an STI. Breathe. Remember, all STIs are treatable and many are curable.
Make sure that your partner is also tested for STIs. For example, with HPV, men can be carriers who show no symptoms and then transfer the disease to you.
Finding a testing center near you is quick and easy. Just enter your zipcode in the testing center locator at www.GYTNOW.org or text your zip code to GYTNOW (498669) on your mobile phone.* You will get a text message back with information about the nearest testing center to you. Simple. Easy. Done.
