How You Can Help Fight Hunger Second Harvest North Florida fights hunger every day. More than 450 nonprofits are dependent on us to provide them with food for the hungry people they serve – children, veterans, seniors and the working poor.

How We Serve People in Need The Need

Food Arrives

More than 342,000 individuals in the Second Harvest North Florida service area are deemed to be “food insecure” – which means they might not be hungry, but they also don’t know when they will eat again. Of that total, more than 117,000 are children. In the 17-county area we serve, 136,269 people are in a class of working poor with no access to federal or state benefits. We are the sole source of food for thousands of working poor families.
