Social Responsibility
LS3P is deeply committed to the communities we serve, and we have long participated in numerous philanthropic activities for the support of social, educational, and medical betterment of our community and constituency. Since its beginning in 1963, LS3P has been totally and absolutely committed to the support of community efforts. Recent outreach efforts have included volunteer service days, annual donations made by each of our eleven offices to charitable organizations, and a 55th anniversary celebration for
which each office completed 55 acts of service such as meals served, coats donated, pet food delivered to animal shelters, or hours volunteered.
We are unconditionally dedicated to giving back to our community, our profession, and our state for the betterment of our social environment. We believe firmly in corporate social responsibility, and we put our beliefs into practice.
our commitment to
Sustainable Design
Sustainability is defined as living and designing our world so that all living things may thrive in perpetuity. LS3P takes that seriously and is an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE); both are foremost coalitions of leaders from across the building industry, promoting buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work.
We have successfully completed over 90 LEED projects, certified at all levels of achievement, and maintain direct relationships with USGBC technical staff and account directors for ongoing help and fewer delays. LS3P design teams are passionate about integrative sustainable design and high-performance buildings, and our Sustainability Director provides progressive leadership and resources to our teams for achieving and exceeding our clients’ goals.
LS3P has formalized our commitment to sustainable design and carbon reduction by signing on to the
AIA2030 Commitment, targeting 70% energy savings, and adopting USGBC LEED® best practices as our own standards with the goal of all of our projects resulting in high performance buildings. The AIA2030 Commitment focuses on regularly achieving net zero energy buildings by 2030, significantly and immediately reducing greenhouse gas emissions toward that goal.
Effective sustainable design does not add cost for the client. We start early at LS3P, setting robust energy and water targets during the schematic design phase, addressing resilience and facility flexibility. We design mindful buildings that inherently reduce future demand for energy and resources, and then we assess on-site energy generation and water capture with smaller loads to meet. When we reduce wasted energy, water, materials, budget, time, and people, and the whole planet benefits as well as our clients.
