Jim

Dear Class of 2015, Hard to believe that your senior year and graduation day have finally arrived. As you know (mostly because we have never let you forget it) your class, the class of 2015, was our first "new and improved" class—60+ students in one grade. This had long been a dream and you were part of making that dream coming true. Thank you. I imagine that all ofour talk about being the "largest class ever" put some pressure on you. If so, you certainly responded with energy, enthusiasm and intelligence. To a person, you have had terrific high school careers. You have worked hard and participated eagerly in your classes. You have been enthusiastic participants in, and leaders of, extra-curricular activities. You rolled with our construction projects and with the school's growing pains. You welcomed three, soon to be four, subsequent large classes with humor and a sense of pride and excitement that has proven to be contagious. You head off into your futures having accomplished a great deal. You have succeeded in your studies. You have learned the lessons of leadership and community. You have developed the skills of being good colleagues and the ability to learn about the world through the experiences of others. So what is next? You brought your interests, skills and passions to your work in high school. During your time at LREI you have grown and changed and sharpened your understanding of who you are and where you are headed. The next challenge is to take your high school experiences and to use them to explore new vistas. To continue to grow and develop, applying all thatyou learned and experienced during the past four years to the opportunities that will come your way and to develop into the next iteration of yourself—call it You 2.0. We hope you continue to stay involved in life at LREI, to return for a quick visit, to follow us on-line, joining in on alumni events and just remembering all thatyou gained during your time here. Trust that we won't forget all thatyou offered and how we have been changed by your presence. Best of everything.

Phil Kassen

Dear Class of 2015, It is an honor and a privilege to write this letter for your yearbook. This is a first forme, and I couldn't imagine a better class to breakthis ground with, as you are a groundbreaking grade. You are admired, respected, and cherished, and your daily presence in school will be missed. It is hard to imagine this place without you sitting in the library or in the hallway outside the cafeteria and without your artwork on our walls. Your immense talents and passions have been humbling to witness. Thank you for all that you have contributed to our school. As a class you leave our school a much different place then when you came. You have ushered in a new era for LREI.As our first class of 60 plus - you pushed us to change, you were the first to experience X-block and really made that program the success it is, and you have watched the building evolve and grow during your four years. But your grade's larger size is only the tip of the iceberg. There is a saying I like, "You get out what you put in." Seniors - you have put in a lot, and out of your commitment we have all gotten a stronger sense of community, a deeper level of engagement, and enough smiles and laughs to carry us forward. You are leaders, in the classroom, on the playing field, and in the world. You have led with a quiet grace and a booming voice. Your legacy is not the size of the class, but the impact you have made individually and collectively. Watching you respond to the challenges that high school has put in your path has been a joy. I relish the chance to hear about where your journey will take you next. Please know that as you enter this new role in our community, as alumni of LREI,that we will think of you often. Please come back often and know that we will always be here for you. All the best.
