COLONEL MONTY R. PERRY Colonel Monty R. Perry is the Commander of the 89th Operations Group, Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. As Commander, he oversees the daily operations of a three squadron, 400-person group, responsible for transporting the Vice President, First Lady, Cabinet Secretaries, seniorranking Department of Defense leaders, members of Congress and foreign heads of state. Colonel Perry was commissioned in 1986 following graduation from the University of Nebraska. During his career, he’s had multiple flying assignments including a tour in Operation DESERT STORM. He has also served staff tours at Air Mobility Command Headquarters, United States Transportation Command Headquarters and Headquarters U.S. Air Force. Colonel Perry has commanded the 310th Airlift Squadron and the 28th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Col Perry and his wife Arlis have two children, Douglas (20), and Allison (17). Colonel Perry is a command pilot with over 4,500 flying hours, including more than 45 combat/combat support sorties in Operations DESERT STORM and ENDURING FREEDOM.
