TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE (A part of every sale made by vendor : LP-Gas Equipment, Inc.)

1. DELIVERIES. Insofar as possible, deliveries will be made as indicated. However, we reserve the right to make partial shipments unless otherwise instructed. Goods not shipped will be shipped as soon as possible and billed later. Unless otherwise indicated, vendor will select mode of delivery, and transportation company will be deemed the agent of the buyer. 2. CLAIMS. Claims for shortage, imperfect material, or adjustments for any cause, must be made within 30 days from the date of invoice. Claims for damage or loss in shipment must be handled directly with the transportation company. 3. RETURNS. The goods covered by our invoice will not be accepted for return without our written permission and are subject to a restocking charge. 4. PRICING. Prices of articles supplied hereunder are subject to revision without notice and invoicing will be at prices in effect at time of shipment. Prices are subject to correction for error. 5. PURCHASE ORDERS AND AGREEMENTS The vendor shall not be bound by any statement or promise made by any representative relative to this transaction which is embodied herein. All contracts and agreements are subject to the approval of an officer of LP-Gas Equipment, Inc. at its home office. Any terms or conditions of customer’s orders which are in addition to or inconsistent with the vendor’s terms and conditions shall not be binding on the vendor and shall not apply to this sale. 6. PAYMENT AND TITLE Terms of payment for materials and goods are net 30 days. In the event of failure to pay for materials or services performed within the terms of payment as stated on the invoice, a penalty charge shall be added to any amount in default together with all reasonable costs of collection, including attorney’s fees. The title and ownership and right of possession of the materials and goods listed shall remain in and shall not pass from the vendor until the purchase price and any interest due shall have been paid in full, and the installation of said equipment is subject to this condition. Should said property be damaged by fire, water, or any cause, before payment is completed, the buyer agrees to pay the vendor the value of such damage, and in the case of destruction thereof from any cause, the full value of said property.

7. WARRANTIES Materials and goods purchased from LP-Gas Equipment are subject only to warranties and guarantees of the original manufacturer. Defect in material or workmanship will be corrected by repair or replacement F.O.B. factory. The vendor shall not be responsible for consequential damages or any further loss resulting from such defect. 8. LIABILITY The vendor shall not be liable for loss, damage, delay, or failure of delivery resulting from fire, strikes, riot, or civil commotion, inability to obtain material, casualties, delays in transportation, or any other causes beyond our control, nor liable for consequential damages from any cause whatsoever. Under no circumstances shall the vendor be responsible for loss of liquids or gas.

PROCEDURE FOR RETURN OF INCORRECT OR DEFECTIVE MATERIALS 1. Return freight must be prepaid. 2. Obtain permission before returning materials. To expedite handling, include the following information: a. Description of merchandise to be returned b. Reason for return c. Date of purchase and invoice number 3. If merchandise is in warranty, include the following information a. Serial and model number b. Description and date of failure c. Date of original installation and invoice number d. Date of replacement and invoice number 4. Items must be returned in first-class condition a. When there has been no error on the part of LP- Gas Equipment, Inc., returned items will be subject to a restocking charge b. For special orders or items not regularly stocked, authorization to return will be based on manufacturer’s policy c. Surplus materials will be subject to 25% restocking charge. Credit will be allowed on the basis of invoice charge or current prices, whichever is lower. 5. Materials claimed defective a. Will be accepted subject to inspection by manufacturer b. If in warranty and found to be defective, may be replaced on a “no charge” basis, or credit allowed at invoice price.

Regulators The LP Gas Regulator - Workhorse of the Industry The LP Gas regulator is called upon to deliver a very precise operating pressure to a load which can vary from pilot flow to wide open flow and at the same time compensate for extreme changes in tank supply pressure. In a properly sized propane system, this is accomplished consistently and automatically without user intervention or in most cases without user knowledge of the dynamics.

Single Stage Systems

Pounds to Pounds Systems

Pounds to pounds regulators are used extensively on industrial burners such as torches, tar kettles and crop dryers.

Single stage regulators may only be used on portable appliances and outdoor cooking appliances. No fixed piping systems.

Two Stage Systems Twin Stage Systems

Twin stage regulators incorporate the 1st stage and 2nd stage in one compact body. They are used for smaller systems with relatively short piping runs.

Two stage regulators are used where the storage is remote from the load. Two stage offers superior, uniform pressure control.

Regulators Regulator Capacity Charts - Twin Stage & First Stage The capacity of any given regulator drops drastically at reduced inlet pressures. The standard capacities listed on page 2 are only intended as a comparative guide and should not be used for final regulator selection. Use the following flow charts with particular attention to the lowest expected temperature and associated tank pressure.

EXAMPLE: The standard capacity for the LV4403TR9 regulator is listed at 2,500,000 BTU/HR. At around -12 OF, the tank pressure falls to approximately 15 PSIG.

Note: Under heavy load conditions, the temperature of the gas in the storage tank will be considerably less than the ambient air temperature as the liquid boils to keep up with the demand. This reduces the available tank pressure even futher.

Regulators A Word About High Pressure Regulators Downstream Overpressure Protection Unlike their Domestic First Stage cousins, the High Pressure Pounds to Pounds regulators do not offer built-in overpressure protection for downstream equipment. These regulators normally operate with high inlet pressures and have relatively large orifice sizes. These regulators do not have built-in full capacity relief devices. When installing High Pressure Pounds to Pounds regulators, care must be taken to protect downstream equipment from damage should the High Pressure regulator fail. If for instance a regulator seat should fail, uncontrolled inlet pressure will be allowed into the downstream piping. An external pressure relief valve installed downstream from these regulators is often required for adequate system protection. See Vapor Relief Valve Section

Bulk Storage Plants Large Container Mounting Large propane storage containers must be mounted on concrete piers. Typical mounting is depicted. Steel supports may only be 6” high unless fireproofed. The pier footing must be below frost line. A 4 foot height from grade to the bottom of the tank is desirable to facilitate tank valves, piping and especially pump suction elevation. A 3/4” sheet of expansion material is placed between the tank and the concrete both as a cushion for irregularities and as an isolation for corrosion protection.

Plant Closure Systems Pneumatic Control Pneumatic remote closure is the preferred method for internal valve actuation. The pneumatic actuator attaches directly to the internal valve body and strokes the valve open and closed. This arrangement offers several distinct advantages:

• The tank valves remain normally closed

and are only opened during transfer operations. • The pneumatic controls can be installed at any convenient location. • The emergency shut off valves at the loading and unloading risers can be incorporated into the plant pneumatic system. • The plant operator actuates only one control from a central, convenient location.

Cable Control For plants with basic systems such as a single storage tank, remote closure can be accomplished readily with cabling. The internal valves are controlled separately from the emergency valves on the risers. Possible cabling arrangements are depicted below.

Emergency Valve Control

A single emergency shutoff valve with remote closure controlled by a taut wire cable. Pulling the cable anywhere along its length will trigger the valve release mechanism.

Internal Valve Control

Two internal valves with remote closure controlled by a single taut wire cable. Pulling the cable anywhere along its length will trigger both valve release latches.

Internal Valves Internal Valve Overview Internal valves are used primarily in the openings of storage tanks. With their normally closed design and shutoff seat internal to the storage tank, these valves provide a very safe primary shutoff at the container opening. The valves are supplied with a handle for manual operation. Accessories allow them to be actuated manually, by cable or with air.

Valve Operation

The handle does not open the main seat of the valve. The handle only lifts the pilot stem allowing product to bleed downstream of the main seat. After the pressure equalizes across the main seat, the valve spring opens the valve fully. A pressure drop in the downstream piping, such as in a pipe breakage, causes the higher inlet pressure to close the main seat. Rapid Bleed

Rapid Bleed The handle is moved to the mid-point position providing rapid bleed past the partially open pilot seat.

Valve Fully Open After pressure equalization, the handle is moved to the full open position and the excess flow spring holds the main valve wide open.

Excess Flow Closed A large pressure drop across the valve moves the main seat to the closed position. A slow bleed occurs through the fully open pilot seat.

Internal Valve Installation Note Internal Valves should be installed in half couplings. Full couplings, standpipes and standard size pipelines create undue restriction to the flow around the valve seat. Premature excess flow closure and extreme pressure drops will occur when installed in other than half couplings.

Relief Valves DuoPort Pressure Relief Manifolds Designed especially for use as a primary relief device on smaller stationary storage containers with 2” NPT threaded couplings. These manifolds allow servicing or replacement of either of the two relief valves without evacuating the container or loss of service. The operating lever selectively closes off the entrance port to the relief valve being removed while the remaining valve provides protection for the container and its contents. The rating of each manifold is based on actual flow through the manifold and a single pressure relief valve, taking friction loss into account. It is not merely the rating of the relief valve alone.

Excess Flow Valves Excess Flow Valves - General Information Excess flow valves permit the flow of liquid or vapor in either direction. The flow is only controlled in one direction (the direction of the arrow stamped on the valve). If the flow in that direction exceeds a predetermined rate, the valve automatically closes. The valve disc is held in the open position by a spring. When the flow creates a pressure drop across the valve disc that overcomes the preset load on the spring, the valve disc moves to the closed position. It remains closed until the force on both sides of the valve disc are approximately equal (a small bleed hole in the disc of each valve permits equalization). The spring then automatically reopens the valve. When a line is completely broken, the pressure cannot equalize and the excess flow valve remains closed until the line is repaired. Because the bleed hole is in the valve disc, excess flow valves do not provide 100 percent shutoff.

Excess Flow Valves - Installation Since excess flow valves depend on flow in order to close, the line downstream of the excess flow valve should be large enough not to excessively restrict the flow. If the piping is too small, unusually long or restricted by too many elbows, tees and other fittings, consideration should be given to the use of larger size pipe fittings. All installations must be in accordance with NFPA Standards 58 and 59, as well as state and local regulations.

Sensus positive displacement meters are designed to accurately measure low to intermediate volumes of gas at relatively low pressures. All the meters have temperature compensation that will automatically correct for changes in flowing gas temperature and convert line volumes to the common base of 60OF. Tips for Flaring •

An incorrect flare is one of the most common sources of leaks. To help prevent leaks, cut tubing with a sharp wheel for a clean right angle cut. To avoid tube constriction, don’t feed the screw too fast.

Since unremoved burrs can break off into the tubing or scratch the flared surface, remove burrs with a deburring tool.

A flare tool with burnishing cone puts a high polish on the flare and rolls out a perfect 45° flare for a good seal. Over or under flaring prevents a good seal. Use a drop of oil on the flaring cone and feed screw for precise action.

Corken Pumps Corken Coro-Flo Regenerative Turbine Pumps The regenerative turbine pump is the most dependable LP gas pump on the market. The free floating impeller with teeth cut on both sides picks up the fluid and creates a spiraling motion around the circumference of each side. The fluid is slightly accelerated and pressurized in dozens of small steps creating a smooth, quiet, overall product flow. Corken Pumps Corken Coro-Vane Sliding Vane Pumps

The sliding vane pump is the most popular type of pump in the LP gas industry for higher flow rate applications. In this type of pump, a slotted rotor is eccentrically supported in a cycloidal cam creating a crescent cavity between the rotor and the cam. The sliding vanes sweep the incoming fluid to the opposite side of the crescent where it is squeezed through discharge holes in the cam toward the pump outlet. Because the vanes must always firmly contact the cam, special porting is designed into these pumps which routes discharge pressure under the vanes to keep them retracted from the rotor.

Corken Coro-Vane Stationary Pumps

Corken Coro-Vane pumps utilize the sliding-vane design to ensure pumping efficiencies remain high throughout the life of the pump. The vanes are self-adjusting for wear. Coro-Vane pumps are positive displacement pumps. They produce up to a maximum differential pressure of 125 PSIG. Three models are offered with capacities up to 350 GPM. Model Number

Fisher Absolute Bypass Valves

Blackmer differential bypass valves are designed to protect pumps and system components from excessive pressure damage. Five sizes are offered to provide full flow capacity up to 250 GPM.

Certain applications require a set line pressure that does not vary with the pressure of the storage tank. Absolute bypasses measure the difference between the line pressure and atmospheric pressure and fill the need for this type of application.

Pump Checkout Procedure Checking the performance of a liquid propane pump is readily accomplished by recirculating the product flow and throttling the discharge to determine the pressure capability of the system. The pump should be able to increase the tank pressure by at least 80 psi without motor overload or pressure fluctuation. If the system doesn’t have a pressure gauge, install one. If the filling hose is too short to provide recirculation, get a longer one.

Valve “A” must be open. Verify that the excess flow valve has not inadvertently closed. C

The filling hose must be connected to valve “C” to allow free circulation back to storage. Valve “B” must be closed to eliminate the bypass circuit. Pressure gauge “D” will show tank pressure with the pump off. It will read a modest (20 psi) increase in pressure after pump is started with valve “C” open

Throttling valve “C” will dead head the flow and allow the operator to judge the highest pressure increase the pump is capable of producing. Reopening valve “B” will allow the operator to do a final reset of the bypass valve.

Absolute Pressure Applications

This style pump set is used where the load requires a moderate boost in pressure above what the storage tank can provide. A differential bypass regulates the boost pressure. The dual check valve arrangement allows the load to operate without the pump running with the option of runing the pump when low storage tank pressures are experienced.

This style pump set is used where an absolute line pressure is required by the load. The absolute bypass holds the delivery pressure to a constant value in contrast to a differential value. Propane/Air Mixers LP-Gas Standby Systems LP-Gas standby fuel installations provide reliable energy needs during natural gas curtailment. Natural gas supplies are often restricted especially in the winter months when demand on the natural gas mains is at its maximum. The natural gas utilities have a finite supply of pipeline capacity and experience shortages during peak demand days. An LP-Gas standby system allows the end user to switch to a compatible propane/air mixture during natural gas curtailment. The connected plant can continue normal operations with an equivalent clean burning fuel. The plant manager can also gain significent savings in their year-long fuel costs by contracting with the utility for an interruptible natural gas rate.

Pipe Wrap Tape

Flange insulation kits provide electrical isolation between flanged piping components. Available for Class 150# and Class 300# flanges in pipe sizes from 1-1/2” through 12”.

Pipe wrap tape is used for corrosion protection of metal pipe, fittings and joints in underground systems. The tape can be applied uniformly without wrinkles or gaps. Should be used with pipe primer for best bonding and protection. Tape stocked in 2” X 100 ft. rolls. Primer stocked in gallon cans.

Magnesium Anode The TG-1 anode is used to protect steel structures such as buried tanks and piping from various reactive elements commonly encountered in soils. The TG-1 anode is manufactured with the base metal magnesium which is much more reactive than the elements in the soil. The anode will give up its ions to the soil and spare the steel structure from destructive corrosion. TG-1

The TG-1 anode will produce between 1.4v to 1.5v potential in most environments. Service life will vary with the resistivity of the environment and the surface area protected. On an average istallation, the TG-1 has a median life of ten years.

Proper installation requires close attention to the following limitations for polyethylene pipe: 1. Vapor service only with 30 PSIG maximum operating pressure. 2. Anodeless risers provide a positive transition joint between polythylene pipe and the gas carrying steel pipe of the riser outlet. The riser casing is epoxy coated for long term corrosion protection and incorporates a water tight, below ground seal.

Transition risers are required for the larger tubing sizes. They have the same features as the anodeless models, but are only available in a straight configuration. For most common installations, a fusion elbow is attached to make the turn to vertical.
