a place to grow and call home

Like Mary and Joseph who struggled to find a safe place to shelter, so too do many orphanage leavers and orphan mums in Russia. Love Russia is currently running an appeal to fund a NEW Transition Home to provide emergency shelter and short term homes for vulnerable young people in the St Petersburg area. Orphans such as Shura and Zarina from Ryazan, who recently left orphanage care and had nowhere to live, are now in a Transition Home. Here they’ll learn valuable life skills and reach a point in their lives where they’re able to cope with the challenge of adulthood. Under the care and close supervision of Mentors, Zarina and Shura will be prevented from the fate that awaits so many orphanage leavers; a life of crime, drugs, alcohol, prostitution, abuse, homelessness and desperate poverty.
