Osteria La Civetta {Falmouth}

1. Grab a lobster roll from the Lobster Trap

{they’ve been serving them up since 1969} and head to the Bourne side of the Cape Cod Canal for boat watching. On the Sandwich side? Café Chew has you covered for sustenance, and the Canal Park has plenty to see between the fishing boats and Coast Guard barracks. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to see the dolphins swimming through the channel whichever side you’re on.

2. Instead of or in addition to spending the

day at the beach, head to Chapoquoit Beach or Old Silver Beach on the west side of Falmouth after hours {no beach sticker required!} for the most epic sunset. Bring a picnic from the West Falmouth Market or ice cream cones from Eulinda’s on Route 28A and stay for star gazing after the sun goes down.

3. Relive over 100 years of Cape Cod’s

natural history at the Green Briar Nature Center & Thornton Burgess Society in Sandwich, where you can experience guided walks in the woods, bask in their wildflower garden, watch their signature jam being made, discuss folk art, and learn about Burgess’ inspiration for his Tales of Peter Rabbit {the Center is adjacent to the famous “Briar Patch”}.
