welcome to the Letchworth Food and Garden Festival over the weekend you’ll be treated to some celebrity and local award winning chefs showcasing their culinary skills in our two demonstration kitchens. With Dean edwards a BBC Masterchef finalist and regular on ItV’s Lorraine programme - Phil thompson from auberge du Lac, and Chris Jones from the fox at Willian, plus many others. Browse our bustling market place of over 60 stalls offering tempting treats including locally reared meat, homemade preserves, speciality cheeses, oils, spicy condiments and sauces, beer and cider and of course local fruit and vegetables. Many of your farmers’ Market favourites will be here for the whole weekend so take advantage of extended trading from 10am to 4pm. You can even put your goodies in one of our durable food festival shopping bags available to purchase on the day for just £1. We’re hoping that the green fingered among you will enjoy our display garden from arch Community Centre. the team have put together a vibrant display planting fruit and veg alongside more traditional planting. We’ll also have local nurseries offering home grown plants and seedlings for sale. finally a word of thanks to our sponsors, the heritage foundation and Jenny Lloyd in particular for making the first food festival such a success that stallholders and chefs have been eager to return, to North herts College for providing us with their fabulous catering students and Student Crew, and North herts District Council for their Love food hate Waste stage and support for the festival. Jam maker Vickie’s humbers homemade Preserves continues to go from strength to strength with a presence at farmers markets, delis, farmer shops and hotels. Vickie’s successes include being nominated for an eastern region award and being featured on the one Show in November.
