In the ball park with Brother Andy Family Enrichment Conference a spiritual success! A million thanks to each of you for your prayers, participation, and scrumptious meals during the Family E n r i c h m e n t Conference. Your personal comments Andy Boyd were very encouraging. It is so wonderful to serve a God Who makes all the difference in the world in our daily lives. May we experience this profound difference for years to come. Should any of you need to follow up with Dan Darden in private counseling, I have his business card which I will gladly make available to you.
Baby Dedication Mother’s Day May 13 Babies rule the world!!! It is my pleasure to dedicate the newest additions to our church families. You will not want to miss this precious celebration as we worship together this Mother’s Day! There will be many “Kodak” moments.
About the cover Pictured on the cover are our pastor Andy Boyd and Mandy Smith just before Brother Andy baptized her on Easter Sunday.
Sermon emphasis on pastoral leadership During the last Sunday in April and the Sundays in May, I will be sharing at least three sermons directed toward the Biblical role of pastor. As members of this church body, I implore you to be present. In the near future, you will have a new pastor and I want you to fully understand his authority, role and leadership prior to his arrival in Byromville.
Staying away from lemonade (as much as possible), Brother Andy
Marty Bridges, one of our state missionaries, will be our guest preacher for Better Bridges Sunday on May 6. Marty works with the Church-Minister Relations Ministry of our Georgia Baptist Convention.
Page 3 The basketball shootout, bicycle races, and hula hoop contest will be back and hopefully the fire truck ride for the kids. There will be other games and rides for the kids as well as many food and other vendors. Be sure to visit our Seasoned Saints booth with sausage biscuits and coffee early and homemade cakes and cookies. Prizes will be given away during the day. You do have to be present to win. For more information and a schedule of events, visit www.turkeycreekfestival.com
Homecoming in Byromville is this year’s theme for Turkey Creek Festival. In keeping with that theme, our parade grand marshals will be the “Bes Buds” aka the 1962 Eighth Grade Class of Byromville Elementary School. Our live entertainment will also include some folks (or there children) whose old stomping ground was Byromville–Marshal Welch, Dick Kitchens’ daughters and Joy (Josey) and Dennis Lanning. And the museum will be full of great old pictures from Byromville’s past. We’re even having a Mystery Photo Contest. The winner will receive a gift card to Cracker Barrel. Also on display in the museum will be Fred Causey’s “Georgia’s Official Centennial Celebration of Tarzan’s 100th Birthday” exhibit. Other entertainers scheduled to perform include Black Velvet Band, Dancing Dolls, Marty Evans Band and the Gospel Stars.
Vacation Bible School June 11-15, 2012 VBS 2012 is cleared for takeoff!
