About the cover

I want to express my appreciation to everyone who prayed for and supported the “Family Fun Day” at the Speedway. God did a mighty work by bringing over 250 people to the speedway to hear the Gospel. We had seventeen Gary Leutzinger known decisions for Christ and over twenty eight families were identified as not having a church home. This event was encouraging to many of our churches because it is a testimony of what we can do together in reaching the lost in our communities. It is my prayer that God will lead us to do more of these evangelistic outreach events and that many will be saved!

Pictured on this month’s cover are a few scenes from the Family Fun Day At The Speedway. Visit www.houstonbaptist.org to see lots more. Photos by James Edmunds.

I appreciate Tommy Bartlett for all the work that he and his church did in cooking the fish at our Associational Men’s Ministry Fish Fry. We had over 100 men and boys at this event, and God blessed us in a great way. Evangelist Darreyl O’Barr brought a very encouraging message that inspired many men to recommit their lives to being a witness for Christ! There are a lot of great things happening in our churches and in the events of the Association. We have seen what God can do when we join our hearts and hands together as we carry out the work He has called us to. I encourage you to pray for our summer activities that will take place in our churches and association. We are anticipating God to move in a mighty way in our children’s camps as well as the mission trips that many of our churches will be involved with. Many churches will also be having Vacation Bible School which will provide an opportunity for children, teens, and adults to commit their lives to Christ. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do this summer and to see hundreds of lives changed as a result of us being obedient and sharing the Gospel through all of these events! It is a joy to serve the Lord and it is a joy to serve you. Let us continue to love each other and unite together to build the Kingdom of God! Pressing On Toward the Goal! Bro. Gary

Over 100 men and boys enjoyed the Fish Fry at Georgia Veterans Memorial Park on May 6. Men’s Ministries President Tommy Bartlett thanks all who helped make the event a success especially those who set up and cleaned up and the Pleasant Grove cooking team. Photo by James Edmunds.
