PERFORMANCES

Our Calendar of Musical Events for the academic year 2017-18 includes some really exciting innovations that will, we hope, ensure that we are providing our young musicians with quite exceptional experiences.

The Spring Concert will involve a performance of Verdi’s Requiem, a piece of quite tremendous power and drama. Featuring soloists from the Royal College of Music in London and an orchestra with our own pupils and staff, the performance will also showcase a large-scale chorus comprising our four sacred choirs, Year 7 students from all three senior schools and the Loughborough Singers.

We are introducing a new Enhanced Music Programme this year, featuring lectures, workshops and masterclasses from some of the country’s finest musicians. All sessions are offered free of charge to pupils and their parents; if there are any that you would find particularly interesting, please do come along.

The faculty-based concerts LES Music Presents give a wonderful overview of the sheer diversity of music that happens around campus. Our Lunchtime Live and SoundBites concerts are designed to give our musicians plenty of opportunity to share their musical journeys with an appreciative audience. In February, our Solo Music Festival finales will be sure to showcase some truly inspirational performances from our highly impressive musicians.

PROFESSIONAL EVENTS PUBLIC EVENTS SERVICES SOUNDBITES Whether you are new to the Loughborough Endowed Schools’ community or you are more established, you are always very welcome to come and see what our young musicians are achieving. The quality of the performances that they give is testament to the hours and hours (or years and years!) of commitment and hard work that they put into their music. We love to see how they grow as musicians; I am sure you will too.
