When baker Harry Peijnenburg started selling his freshly baked gingerbread in Geldrop in the Netherlands in 1883, the Peijnenburg brand was born. The gingerbread was an instant hit and over the years the bakery grew into a proper factory. Peijnenburg stands for moist gingerbread made from specially selected rye and spices, according to a traditional preparation and baking process. Peijnenburg offers gingerbread in a variety of flavours and different formats, including Peijnenburg Zero, a variety with no added sugar. The gingerbread contains only natural sweeteners, without affecting the taste, moistness or structure.
