PEER NETWORKS AND RESOURCES EMPOWERING THE COMMUNITY TO CONNECT

Brief

Soundview Park, the Bronx, falls on the Long Island Sound. It is rarely to see people using the park, while it has great natural resources and space, it has little recognition by the people who live there. How can we vitalize the space and the community through digital platform?

Mission Working with Partnership for Park to address the problem and propose a design solution with using the Locast platform. (Locast is a location based media platform that developed by MIT Mobile Experience Lab.) We propose an idea to use Locast as a platform to organize and distribute community events information, and visualize the event location and pictures on the map service.

ITS MY PARK DAY

KEY LEARNING FROM THE EVENT During the “ITS MY PARK DAY” event, our team have collected some insights about how the residents think of the park and the neighborhood, which helped us to undestand the barrier between them and the space. We used two different research method; one is questionnaire, another one is playdoh and map of Soundview. They are both designed to focus on food resources.

1. It’s important to have these events. use of the park is low but people are excited when they discover it. 2. Residents want more access and choice when it comes to food in the neighborhood. 3. Various groups and organizations are disconnected from the residents and each other. 4. Information flow between all of the stakeholders is limited or non-existant.

How can we build resilient community networks that share resources and create opportunities by connecting local organizations with the community? DISCONNECTED DOTS

Hey! When will the spring 2013 collection be in the SoHo boutique??

MISIA:

FASHION ADVISOR: Hey Misia! The shipment is scheduled to arrive on January 20th.

Thanks! Just out of curiousity, what is the price of the blouse on look 20? Does it come in any other color variations? Also do the boutiques always carry sunscreen?I’m going to miami for new years and need a refill!

MISIA:

FASHION ADVISOR: The blouse for SS13 look 20 is $965, and will be available in rosé and white.

Sunscreen is available all year round in stores and online. Would you like me to provide you with a link to our fragrance and beauty page?
