01 Apartment in Erla Date January 2019 | About Private commission | Rol Individual Location Erla, Austria | Phase Architectural design

Project located in Erla, Austria. A small town near the city of Vienna. This apartment was commissioned by a client whose desire is to use the attic from an existing family house just next to the woods. The aim I had with the design is to maximize the view toward the beautiful natural landscape, especially in the living room. One of the challenges to solve is to adjust each space according to current heigh of the ceiling and make each space as functional it can be. The slope of the ceiling was a limiting factor so I carefully analyzed where each room can be located in order to provide maximum comfort and contemporary design. In addition, I suggested to open new windows over the ceiling, however, another primary goal was to reduce construction works in order to make the project more affordable to the client.

02 Ciklik Vargas Arquitectos Date Feb 2018- Dec 2018 | Mexico City

My work experience at Ciklik Vargas Arquitectos consisted of the development of the concept and architectural development for three projects in Mexico. The first project I work at was a family house in a new urban development in the northeast of Mexico City. I helped to develop the conceptual phase in addition to some of the construction plans from the advanced phase of the project. The second project I developed was a master plan for a luxury resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. This project implied the extensive analysis of all local and regional regulations applied to hotels in Riviera Maya which is a protected area due to its natural landscape and Mayan architecture legacy. Here I helped to draw the master plan from a large scale and consequently, we developed each bedroom unit componing different typologies of bedrooms in order to satisfy the client’s needs, according to a market study given by the client. I was involved in the carefully made analysis of which was the best way to assemble each cluster inside the master plan according to all previously studied regulations. Lastly, the third project I work at was a Four Seasons Staff housing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Here I developed an extensive drawing of detail plans, modeling and post production from the master plan to the specific type of housing unit requested by the client. I worked from the conceptual phase to the construction plans. This project played a very important role for the office due we introduced the client the usage of brick vaults for the whole project as a sustainable and efficient way to build the entire project. I believe my major contribution to the office was my dynamic and enthusiastic way of working. I constantly worked hard to put my full commitment to each plan and drawing, so that the clients will find fulfillment with the final outcome. Moreover, I was constantly proposing construction ideas so as trying to innovate in the way we conceived the story behind each project.

VenhoevenCS architecture + urbanism Date Oct 2017- Dec 2017 | Amsterdam, The Netherlands

During my internship at VehoevenCS, I mainly worked at a master plan or urban development near the Schipol Aiport. In this project, I was on charge to analyze different usages of brick of the facades throughout the housing blocks of one part of the master plan (Erven Wickevoort). The housing blocks consisted of a series of corps intersected by pedestrian avenues inside the plot, communicating important points of the surrounding area of the site. This project was developed in agricultural land, which meant to explore different ways to create a sustainable community preserving and innovating its way to work with farmlands. Moreover, it was strongly important to enclose the immediate landscape and context to the way of living for the future inhabitants of the master plan. Retaking all relevant factors that determine specific characteristics of the local architecture that was made near the site. Additionally, I worked with the team to assemble conceptual presentations for the meetings with external parties of the master plan. These presentations were made to discuss different parts of the project including the gardening and the landscape design which was a fundamental part of the conceptual phase. Here I helped to conceive and model different ways to express the aims of the greenery for each block of housing and showcase the way we wanted the user to inhabit the immediate landscape surrounding the blocks. Finally, I also worked extensively to design the layout of the veranda for each block as well as the main entrance preceding the main corp. Prior to the end of my internship, I worked for different presentations for an urban development near the city of Beijing as well as the productions for several presentation drawings for international publications.

04 Artist Pavillion Date December 2017 | About MSc in Arch (1st sem) | Rol Individual Location Rembradt Park, Amsterdam | Tutor Tatjana Djordjevic

The project arises through designing a pavilion inspired by an artist to choose. I decided to take inspiration from “Kygo; dj / electronic music producer from Bergen, Norway. The aim of this pavilion is to explore the emotions that music causes in people. The project consists of three volumes with different uses, each connected through a path inside and outside of them, to make the visitor feel walking through a Nordic landscape inspired by the origins of Kygo. They are intended to provide the visitor with different experiences while listening to music, be it a small live concert or music from a sound system installed in the last volume.

Buitenpoort Halfweg Date October 2017 | About MSc in Arch (1st sem) | Rol Individual Location Halfweg, Amsterdam | Tutor Gert-Jan Wisse

Transforming a train station into a “Door to the exteriors was the goal of this project. The number of tourists in Amsterdam is increasing every time, the purpose is to make the surroundings of Amsterdam attractive for visitors. My intention was to extend and merge the existing platforms of the train station to the green areas and to the former sugar factory now industrial heritage, so that people are guided by the platforms, creating the feeling of a continuous line through the design but using the existing topography of the place. In this way, people can experience different sensations depending on which platform they are on, in order to appreciate the existing landscape itself.

The aim of this project is to “extend” and merge the train station platforms into the existent places close to it. The platforms will provide the visitor different experiences and after they will be “dropped” in the woods so as in Sugar City. Each platform has certain pattern taken from the natural textures and urban trace of the site.

Scandinavian Centre CDMX Date June 2016 | About Diploma project (5th year) | Rol Individual Location Mexico City | Selected to appear in the Yearbook 2016 from the Faculty of Architecture UNAM

Through this project, I aim to create the first multidisciplinary space in Mexico capable to offer strong cultural cooperation between Nordic countries and Mexico. It is thought as a cultural center where Mexicans can learn about Scandinavian countries and their culture such as languages, art, crafts, urban and architectural studies. Likewise, their way to approach certain social, architectural and urban challenges among other contents that I consider helpful for us to reach in somehow a proper quality of life and therefore take that learning into individual actions.

Logement à Montreuil Date June 2015 | About M1 ENSA-PB Paris | Rol Individual Location Montreuil, Paris | Tutor Pascale Richter & Mathias Romvos

How would you define an “ instant of inhabit “? Located in the Montreuil district, a place with a long history of peach harvest in the 40’s. The project started with the site analysis from a critical point of view, focusing on the history of the place more than the physical conditions. The second phase consisted in elaborate individually a complex analysis of one housing project. On the third phase we were asked to think what is for us an “ Instant of inhabit”. I decided to recreate and transform the way I used to inhabit my family summer house located in a small city close to Mexico City. We developed a floor plan from the scenario created on this “instant of inhabit”.

The intentions of the project are based on the idea that infrastructure is a meaning of recovery the public space within an industrial context like the city of Clichy (North of Paris). The public space adjacent to the infrastructure is a strategic point where we want to provide new recreation areas and at the same time to rethink the experiences of the pedestrian. By modifying certain topographies as well as intervening each crossing we want to give quality accessibility for pedestrians on each site. Specific intentions are to work on slopes and taludes that form the road bridges and the streets which compose them, cross walk sand reuse and improve the existing landscape with new urban furniture, new materials and new vegetation.

Creation of new green areas and public squares for the three social housing building next to the avenue.

Vegetation path

My intention is to connect the inner city of northern Paris with one of the recent urban planning projects outside of Paris called Asnières-sur-Seine. This will be through the existing infrastructure (the island itself which serves as a huge piece of land to cross from one side to another by using the bridge along it).

In addition to this, I also propose the rehabilitation of the whole island by making a brand new green area/square for the three housing buildings just in front of the avenue, besides the insertion of new green areas all over the island.

Art Gallery in a public park *

Date February 2014 | About 3rth year | Rol Individual lorena cruz Location Mexico City | Tutor Luis Saravia

Project located in the neighborhood of Prado Coapa in the South of Mexico City, it is separated in three sections due its population density. The Gallery is placed in the 2nd section over a public park. I decided to make a mixture of axes bringing in all directions the culture from some of these surrounding places. In order to provide a contrasting way to discover the art, I guided the walls according to the existing trees and created both exterior and interior paths with different textures. The materials I proposed for the gallery are concrete, glass, wood and steel. Lastly, for the landscape design I took the existing trees over the area as guidelines, the axes I draw follow the position of the trees, and therefore I added different textures for the paths.

Various (design) This is a brief summary of some other projects I did during my academic exchange at the ENSA-PB. For the course Object Design, I worked with two chosen words from a puzzle; light & cut. The first object I created is a desk lamp with two small elements on its surface where the user can put pencils or other office tools. It is made with 5 sheets of timber and a bulb inside of it. The second object I created has the name “The White Box, this object reveals different shadows through its multiple surfaces. I got inspired by icebergs to build several faces with linear cuts over them. This box can be put on a window and it can be adjusted to fit in small frames.

This is a brief sample of the photograhpy I do when travelling. I love to explore waterfronts and certain urban landscapes. Also I tend to sketch what my perspective of an ideal building should look like in order to relate itself with the surroundings. 39
