SO YOU'RE POSTED... ;) This may be your first house. It could be your third. It still has the potential to be a stressful experience without following some tips before hand. First, and foremost, know your numbers. It’s always advisable to speak with a mortgage broker, or a trusted bank advisor to find out how much house you can comfortably afford, before you start looking. (They can give you advice and information on down payments, assistance for first time buyers and mortgage options prior to making an offer.) Having a preapproval letter prior to making an offer will make things go smoother at the outset. KNOW WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR Make a list of things that are important to you in your new house. Is it the neighbourhood? Near schools? Open concept? Rural? You may end up falling in love with something that doesn’t have everything on your list, but having a guideline will help you keep focussed as you search. It also will give your Realtor a good idea of what you’re looking for.

GO PREPARED Bring identification with you. A checkbook, ( if you still use them). Wear comfortable shoes, (easy slip on off). And be prepared to look at as many houses as necessary to find the right one that fits your needs. CHOOSING THE RIGHT REALTOR The right Realtor will do a lot of preliminary work before you arrive on your househunting trip. They should have an idea of your budget, and an idea of the type of home and neighbourhood you’re looking for. The more information they have, the better. I am a proud military spouse, and have been a licensed Realtor since 2007. (Posted to Petawawa in 2000. I know and love it here!) I’ve been posted three times and I know the in’s and outs, and the stresses involved with a Military move. (Especially with kids involved). I work tirelessly for my clients. I love my job, and I believe it shows.

For more information about how I can help you with your move to Petawawa, please feel free to email, call or text. I’m here to help!
