Plants Make Their Own Food Plants need water, soil, air, and light to make their own food.


Plants Keep Safe

Poison Ivy has oil on its leaves and stems.

This oil can hurt the skin of animals and people

The trunk of a tree is covered with hard bark, it keeps the soft parts inside safe

A cactus is covered with spines. Spines can stick and hurt animals.

Many rose plants has thorns Thorns have points that can stick and hurt animals.

Hair on the leaves of some plants keeps bugs away. The hair makes it hard for bugs to take a bite.

How Do Plants Reproduce? Most of them, make seeds that grow new plants. Some seeds need to move away from the parent plant to have room to grow.

Seeds move away or are carried away from the parent plant in many ways. By animals and the wind.

Seeds need a warm and wet place to grow.


LET´S REMEMBER •PLANTS LIVE IN DIFFERENT PLACES •PLANTS ADAPT THEMSELVES TO THE PLACE WHERE THEY LIVE •PLANTS MAKE THEIR OWN FOOD, BUT THEY NEED WATER, AIR, SOIL AND LIGHT TO MAKE IT. •PLANTS HAVE THORNS, SPINES, SPECIAL SMELLS AND OTHER WAYS TO KEEP THEMSELVES SAFE. •PLANTS REPRODUCE BY SEEDS. SEEDS ARE CARRIED AWAY BY ANIMALS, THE WIND OR PEOPLE.
