Acting President Brian welcomed our visitors The house Heather has booked for Easter at Lake Moogerah is full Lynne has organised the chocolates for the chocolate drive (for the Kokoda Challenge fundraising). Along with the chocolates we will receive a 4.5kg block of Toblerone, this will be raffled along with a $50 Rebel Sports Voucher and or $50 of Avon. The prizes have been organised by Lynne The next Club Dinner is on Friday 18th March. Brian will coordinate it and most likely will be a restaurant at Mt Warren Park The walks listed for Easter are the same as last year. However, all suggestions will be considered Saturday 12th March is Killarney Glen, then Peter’s Orchid Show in Canungra, then coffee at the Café Metz. Heather is now the coordinator Heather has sourced Epirbs at BCF for $350 each. However, Lynne has been able to source them for $295.90. Our visitor Ashley also advised that Paddy Palins in the Valley sell them. Decision pending. Nothing has progressed with the purchase of new Gazebos The walk for Saturday, March 19th is listed as Monserratt and Upper Portals. 4 wheel drives are required for this walk. It is also election day. The options are to change the walk or do it on Sunday. Brian is now the coordinator for this walk Back Creek Abseil. Anthony asked what the process was as he had a mishap on the abseil. Heather explained what our insurance covers us for. However, Anthony was more interested in a de-brief and advice

The 2016 Pilgrimage is now 4 months away. Just a reminder: Planning is underway and we have at least 12 walks organised so far. There will be more nearer the time. The public website for Brisbane Bushwalkers Club http://www.bbw.org.au now has a "Pilgrimage 2016" tab which will be
constantly updated over the next few months as more walks and activities are finalised. It also contains the registration form - a copy of which is attached. I'm looking forward to seeing many of you there - it will be wonderful, as always, to meet and share experiences with fellow bushwalkers from all over Queensland. “Meet at Kooyalee for the 20th CCC.” Capricornia Bushwalkers are hosting the 2016 Combined Club Campout at Kooyalee, Parkhurst from the 30 April-02 May*. Centrally located between Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast, the Girl Guides facility at Kooyalee provides both camping grounds and bunkhouse accommodation at a cost of $15 per day. A bbq meal will also be provided at a cost of $10 pp. You are invited to join us for weekend of wonderful bushwalking and other activities including kayaking and much more. The objectives of FMR Inc. are to: • Promote and encourage a professional approach to bushwalking safety through practical training, adoption of sound and credible methods, and by demonstration to other clubs. • Promote, encourage and conduct advanced bushwalking and related activities. • Promote and encourage safe bushwalking practice internally, in other clubs and to the general public. • Assist other bushwalking club members and their club safety and training officers with training at club level. • Maintain skills in search and rescue techniques. These skills are above those which would usually be required in normal bushwalking activities. • Enable members of other bushwalking clubs to become proficient in search & rescue organisation by training, by leading bushwalking club walks, and by demonstration of walking safety and related techniques to enable members of other bushwalking clubs to become proficient in these activities. • Obtain equipment to enable the search and rescue function to be carried out, and train members in the correct use and maintenance of the equipment. • Where possible maintain liaison with police, SES, communications media, property owners and other bushwalking clubs. • Carry out research and analysis of any aspect associated with bushwalking, search and rescue, and the techniques and equipment used. WHAT TO BRING: Lunch and a plate to share (tea/coffee/water supplied) TRANSPORT: There is parking available around the Library and Translink Buses 61, 379, 380 and 381 all go near RSVP: Thursday, 17th March, 2016 (for catering purposes)
We will have access to a kitchenette, toilets, tables/chairs, OHP, data projector, fixed PC and laptop connectivity, and TV/DVD facilities so if you have anything you would like to share, please do so. Photos are also welcome. A lucky door prize has also been organised.
