The company’s primary business is as a quick service restaurant and it’s success comes from having a great staff of 110 people employed, said the owners. Best Local Elected Official for 2013 was bestowed upon Mayor Kenneth L. Usry, of Thomson, by the McDuffie County community. Usry has been mayor of Thomson for six years, but has been an elected official for 35 years total. His primary business is serving the citizens of Thomson while improving the quality of life and improving services at the lowest possible cost. His keys to success include keeping an open mind, being easily accessible, listening to needs and concerns, being out in the community, being aware of what is going on, making progress with Downtown Thomson over the past several years and having a spirit of cooperation with the county government.
