Vienna Restaurant, by PPAG Architects

The concept behind this design was to create a bar area for a new restaurant in the Adams Morgan, DC area. The restaurant is housed on 18th street in an historic building. The design was to have a mirrored theme effect shown from the conceptual model (top right). The challenge from this design was height limitations due to the site being in an historic area.

The designer has been hired to remodel the existing residential floor plan and convert it into a tenant improvement office space. The design team will need to design as well as provide a set of construction documents to demo several areas to accommodate the program requirements.

REMOVE EXISTING WALLS AS SHOWN. REMOVE EXISTING DOORS AND FRAMES. REMOVE ASSESSORIES,THRESHOLDS, VANITY LIGHTS, FLOOR TILE, VANITIES, AND PLUMBING FIXTURES AND SAVE FOR REUSE. REMOVE EXISTING PLUMBING AS REQUIRED FOR NEW

The program requirements include: • The director’s office must be strategically placed so that it is near the entrance door and so that a glass vision panel will permit supervision of the multipurpose room. • Storage of tables, chairs, and equipment is an important aspect of planning the center • A room of maximum flexibility and diversity of use, capable of seating at least 30 in a classroom arrangement, at least 24 at a few or several: • modular tables • Two locker alcoves (boys and girls) • Kitchen (preferably residential designed)

DESIGN PROCESS The process of my design was to develop a staggered waterfall wall, and with the floor plan being an unique shape I wanted to create an asymmetrical design where things are being mirrored and reflecting off of each other. The problem with this design was hiding duct work to complete the task and still being able to have the design come together as a whole.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY LT Healthcare is a clinic facility for Baby Boomers in the Boston MA area that are suffering from depression or need any kind of mental therapy. The facility accommodates children from ages 8-12, provides marriage and individual counseling sessions. LT Healthcare facility will be designed to help with different mental illnesses by incorporating different wall colors that help relax muscles in the brain as well as seating to help relax the body as a whole.

DIMMER SWITCHES, THERMOSTATS, FAN CONTROLS OR OTHER DEVICES WHICH CAN NOT BE INSTALLED UNDER THE SAME GANG-TYPE COVER PLATE SHALL BE CLOSELY SPACED AND ALIGNED HORIZONTALLY WITH LIGHT SWITCHES.

LIGHT FIXTURES IN A DEFINED SPACE WHICH ARE NOT KEYED ARE OPERATED BY THE SWITCH LOCATED NEAREST TO THE DOORWAY.

WHERE NECESSARY TO CUT CEILING TILES, ALL WALL/CEILING AND FASCIA/CEILING JUNCTIONS SHALL BE FURNISHED WITH AN ANGLE COVE MOLDING TO MATCH GRID.

ALL LABOR AND MATERIALS, ALTHOUGH NOT SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED BUT NECESSARY FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE WORK AND THE SUCCESSFUL OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM, SHALL BE PROVIDED AS IF IT WAS SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED.

SPECIFIED FIXTURES ARE NOT TO BE SUBSTITUTED UNLESS INDICATED BY O.E. OR APPROVED BY CLIENT/DESIGNER.

MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING HVAC NEEDS IN THE NETWORK EQUIPMENT ROOM WITH THE CABLING SUBCONTRACTOR.

MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR IS TO LOCATE DUCT WORK AS CLOSE TO SLAB ABOVE AS POSSIBLE. CONTACT AUMEN ASNER, INC. IF HVAC, LIGHTING AND/OR SPRINKLER SYSTEM CONFLICT.

CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RELOCATION OF EXISTING AND/OR THE SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF HVAC EQUIPMENT, AS REQUIRED FOR PROPER FUNCTION OF SYSTEM IN THE SPACE AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE CODE.
