FINANCE & SUPPORT > STUDENT SUPPORT From the minute you join LMA, we are here for you. So if you have any problems while you’re here, you know help is never far away. Whether your issues are academic, financial or personal, we have an exceptional team of student advisors ready to help. We’ve always said that we don’t just want to teach our students, we want to prepare them for the real world. So we’ve gone to great lengths to embed real employability skills into every one of our courses. Making your whole experience a smooth one is a priority for us at LMA.

...GIVING EVERYONE A FIRST CLASS EDUCATION. 44

EMPLOYABILITY We’ll help you develop the talents, knowledge and personal attributes necessary to catch the eye of employers – and give you the capability to be effective in the workplace and successful in your chosen career. FEES To make this experience as accessible as possible, we’ve developed a fair fees structure that reflects the cost of giving everyone a first-class education. Coming to the specialist institution is an exciting time, but we know that sorting out the finances can be tricky, especially when it comes to figuring out what you need to pay. Our fees are straightforward. The most common way to cover these costs is with a student loan. This is a government loan that covers your tuition fees, meaning you don’t have to pay anything up-front. In fact, You’ll only repay when your income is over £511 a week or £2,214 a month (before tax and other deductions). https://www.gov.uk/repaying-your-student-loan/ when-you-start-repaying This equates to £26568 per annum. The amount changes every April, so by the time our 2021 applicants join, it will likely be higher.

DON’T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT... LMA offers a creative environment in a family atmosphere, where tutors are experienced industry professionals, facilities are second to none, and hard work promises to bring great rewards.

At LMA I was made to feel comfortable from the very beginning and all throughout my time there. It was the fact I felt so comfortable and valued that allowed me to immerse myself into my acting course and develop my skills. LMA’s relationships within the industry are incredible and they’ve meant over 3,000 of us have gone on to work in our chosen field. The opportunities LMA has provided have been endless for me. I’ve started my career in the industry I love, and contributed to exciting new things. It is LMA and the network it has opened up to me that will definitely set me up for life.

Here is what four of our recent graduates have to say about their time at LMA – and why you should follow in their footsteps.

LMA is like a family, and studying here has trained me to work in games and animation. I have taken part in workshops, gone on trips, engaged in masterclasses and heard from guest speakers which, for the first time, opened my eyes to what the gaming industry would really be like. Before this, I had no idea how much there was to learn about the job I really wanted. But studying at LMA has been such a good experience and has helped me grow as a person and in my career. It’s not just about sitting behind a desk, at LMA When I started, I expected to train and graduate,

it’s all about learning through experience. You gain

but because the tutors have worked in the industry

individual experiences from openings offered to you by contacts at LMA. Tutors will consider you for opportunities and auditions they have, as they want

and are very well connected, there were so many opportunities for me to gain experience while I was there. “I’ve gained more than a degree; LMA has given me the experience and drive I need to be successful in the industry that I’m so passionate about.

you to see what it’s really like working in the industry. The fact LMA is largely performance based meant I got the chance to perform in some of Liverpool’s best venues. I was also able to perform as a soloist on national television as part of BBC One’s Pitch Battle.

Masterclasses give our guests a chance to tell fascinating stories from their stellar careers and share valuable advice about their industries, giving students the opportunity to engage with them and ask questions of some of the leading figures in their fields. And the stars also enjoy the experience and the enthusiastic LMA welcome they receive.

OPPORTUNITIES > Studying at LMA opens up a world of exciting experiences both through the courses on offer and also outside the institution too. LMA’s close links with key figures in the entertainment industry mean our undergraduates are in an ideal position to take advantage of relevant opportunities. Recent opportunities include five Film & TV graduates starting full time contracts working on a major production with Netflix and LMA actors being cast in the awardwinning Jimmy McGovern TV series ‘Broken’ starring Sean Bean. And the LMA Choir, made up of both past and present students, was selected as one of Robbie Williams’ final four acts on The X Factor in 2018, with them taking to the stage during the live shows. Having built a strong connection with the choir, he then invited them to perform with him at his sold-out British Summer Time concert at Hyde Park in July 2019. A number of our Games Art and Animation undergraduates attended the 2019 BAFTA Games Awards, which celebrate outstanding creative achievement in the British video games industry.
