FINANCE & SUPPORT > STUDENT SUPPORT From the minute you join LMA, we are here for you. So if you have any problems while you’re here, you know help is never far away. Whether your issues are academic, financial or personal, we have an exceptional team of student advisors ready to help. We’ve always said that we don’t just want to teach our students, we want to prepare them for the real world. We think about finding employment for you from the moment you arrive. So we’ve gone to great lengths to embed real employability skills into every one of our courses. Making your whole experience a smooth one is a priority for us at LMA.

EMPLOYABILITY We’ll help you develop the talents, knowledge and personal attributes necessary to catch the eye of employers – and give you the capability to be effective in the workplace and successful in your chosen career. FEES To make this experience as accessible as possible, we’ve developed a fair fees structure that reflects the cost of giving everyone a first-class education. Coming to University is an exciting time, but we know that sorting out the finances can be tricky, especially when it comes to figuring out what you need to pay. Our fees are straightforward. The most common way to cover these costs is with a student loan. This is a Government loan that covers your tuition fees, meaning you don’t have to pay anything up-front. In fact, you don’t have to pay anything back until you’ve graduated and are earning over £25,000.

DON’T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT... LMA offers a creative environment in a family atmosphere, where tutors are experienced industry professionals, facilities are second to none, and hard work promises to bring great rewards.

At LMA I was made to feel comfortable from the very beginning and all throughout my time there. It was the fact I felt so comfortable and valued that allowed me to immerse myself into my acting course and develop my skills. LMA’s relationships within the industry are incredible and they’ve meant over 3,000 of us have gone on to work in our chosen field. The opportunities LMA have provided has been endless for me. I’ve started my career in the industry I love, and contributed to exciting new things. It is LMA and the network it has opened up to me that will definitely set me up for life.

Here is what four of our recent graduates have to say about their time at LMA – and why you should follow in their footsteps.

LMA is like a family, and studying here has trained me to work in games and animation. I have taken part in workshops, gone on trips, engaged in masterclasses and heard from guest speakers which, for the first time, opened my eyes to what the gaming industry would really be like. Before this, I had no idea how much there was to learn about the job I really wanted. But studying at LMA has been such a good experience and has helped me grow as a person and in my career. MASTERCLASSES > At LMA we are committed to offering our students an unparalleled insight in to the creative industries. In addition to our tutors, who are all experienced industry professionals, we also invite high profile faces from the worlds of film, theatre, music, gaming and animation to deliver special masterclasses here at the college. Acclaimed film director Ken Loach, actors Imelda Staunton, David Morrissey and Johnny Vegas, musical theatre royalty Kerry Ellis, American blues, gospel and R n B singer Dorothy Moore and Hollywood animator John Hughes are among those who have spent time with LMA students. Masterclasses give our guests a chance to tell fascinating stories from their stellar careers and share valuable advice about their industries, and students the opportunity to engage with and ask questions of some of the leading figures in their fields. And the stars also enjoy the experience and the enthusiastic LMA welcome they receive. On his most recent visit to LMA, Liverpool-born screen star Stephen Graham spent four hours talking about his craft and involving students in hands-on demonstrations.

OPPORTUNITIES > Studying at LMA opens up a world of exciting experiences both through the courses on offer and also outside the college too. LMA’s close links with key figures in the entertainment industry mean our undergraduates are in an ideal position to take advantage of opportunities that arise. Our partnership with Raindance, for example, not only involves a new MA in Film, but also means students get the chance to volunteer at and submit their own work to the acclaimed annual independent film festival. A new Liverpool Raindance Film Festival, being staged for the first time in May 2019, is an additional chance to get involved. Other recent opportunities include LMA actors being cast in the award-winning Jimmy McGovern TV series Broken, starring alongside Sean Bean. A number of our Games Art and Animation undergraduates attended the 2018 BAFTA Games Awards, which celebrate outstanding creative achievement in the British video games industry. And over the past two years, young performers from the music and musical theatre courses have shone on the national stage with the talented LMA Choir’s success in Pitch Battle on BBC1, and this year in ITV’s, The X Factor.
